I did the bios update but on reboot got a windows update. Had exclamation on SD storage class controller so did the bios update again. Still got exclamation on SD and error code 10 device cannot start. Will not find a driver update. Used to have three SD storage class controller in device manager, now only two. Also lost PIN ability to logon to Windows and fast switch tablet/desktop mode. Also will not rotate, stuck in portrait. I think I am going to forget Windows and just use Android, a shame because that’s why I bought a dual boot tablet.
March 11, 2016 at 10:55 pm #28947Neil, I can help get everything right with windows. with that in mind, last time I tried PIN didn’t work and I also get the error code 10.

Users should note that the latest Bios update posted by Gal and later by his seller OKQI with the note, it didn’t work for me but you should try a random file posted on Mediafire, IS NOT a Teclast official file. It has still not been posted on the Teclast bbs.
Some seem to have problems due to the previously posted unsigned Win 8 drivers that may have burned out your hardware or SD cards.
Only use OFFICIAL Teclast updates if you want to avoid the problems these jokers are having 🙂
March 12, 2016 at 1:23 pm #29019Well, good luck with waiting for official Teclast update.
This file came from a Teclast contact of OKQI. It proved to be legit already.
People just need to be sure they have the A5C8 model.March 12, 2016 at 2:59 pm #29026Anonymous

The Teclast official has posted it on the BBS. The file is dated March 8th.
It is on this page, under TF card fix heading.

March 12, 2016 at 3:11 pm #29027So now it’s official, the file was legit.
March 12, 2016 at 4:22 pm #29033Also having this issue. 64gb card was working after bios update, now it back to code 10 cannot start in device manager.
March 12, 2016 at 4:35 pm #29034I’ve just tried the update but all I get is ‘update failure’ The X98 is connected as a media device to my PC. Do I need to install any drivers first?
March 12, 2016 at 4:39 pm #29035The bios update? That needs to be run from the tablet, make sure the file is unzipped to C: first. This thread is discussing the return of the issue after updating windows.
March 12, 2016 at 5:07 pm #29055Ah! That explains it. Thanks.
March 12, 2016 at 5:52 pm #29071Richard, please update here if you figure out the code 10 issue.
March 12, 2016 at 6:01 pm #29072@Gal how did you mange to use the ntfs formatted sd card in android? i have the same here, in exfat format but only windows will show it.
March 12, 2016 at 6:07 pm #29075Exfat didn’t work for me in Android. Did you try NTFS?
March 12, 2016 at 6:11 pm #29076not yet because in my understanding ntfs is not supported by android.
but i will give it a try. hope it works with the unrooted factory image.
March 12, 2016 at 6:23 pm #29078Oh I think you’re right. I’m using the custom rom and I think I once tried some app to make NTFS work on Android. I deleted it but I guess the effect stayed..sorry I didn’t mention it earlier, forgot about it.
