After doing a little bit of research, I am coming to a conclusion that I shall wait until intel refresh to get a new tablet with 4GB RAM.

In the meantime I need one to use with my pico projector which will need HDMI. Later I may retire this year’s purchase as a file server and/or plex server.

So my aim is to buy best bang for the buck and it seems Teclast X80HD fits the bill at 72 euros at gearbest. Are there any other contenders I shall look at before buying this one? Only thing that bothers me is the dual boot since I don’t need Android, I feel I will lose the valuable MMC space. Unless of course I can turn this baby into a windows only machine somehow.

My ‘requirements’ for a new tablet are:

    8″ or less,
    Good battery life,
    IPS screen,
    HDMI out (must have actually).

    Thanks for all your replies.

I have the exact same requirements. Too bad the Chuwi Hi8 Pro is taking so long be be released.

Another option is the Teclast X80 Plus. This has the new Cherry Trail cpu, HDMI out (4k) but doesn’t have a full hd screen. The Cube iWork 8 ditto, it was reviewed on the frontpage yesterday.

The dual boot can easily be solved by removing the Android partition. I like dual boots because you never know when you might need it in the future and you can always restore it back to two partitions.

Let me know what you decide. and why
