I just bought this off of amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NSBVNCM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I want to update the tablet to the latest windows anniversary update so in order to do that I need to be able to charge it while its updating off of the thumbdrive (for more storage since the micro sd card reader isn’t working properly in windows)

I’ll report back once it arrives and let you know if it works.

Having purchased an array of these OTG+Charger hubs, I discovered while watching a YouTube movie that you cannot charge and use USB devices in any hub under Android, but you can under windows!!!!!!!!!!!

As I wiped windees off my tablet I cannot confirm this, I can only confirm I have not been able to get any Hub to work together.

I remember seeing a YT video of someone doing a Mod to a X80 Pro, by fitting another micro USB port with a glue gun and soldering its wires to the battery connections on the PCB but I’ve searched for it everywhere without success. However wiring a port directly to the battery terminals without going through the regulator is asking for trouble. The regulator not only corrects and maintains polarity on the + & – rails, but also smooths out the power and maintains it to a preset 5V DC within tolerance. Not the sort of thing most transformer chargers bother to do.

I personally would under take the task by wiring the port directly to the USB connectors on the PCB at the regulator side. I suspect that the single USB port is polarity reversing (reverse charge to power USB devices) probably using a switched zeneer diode, when it detects a USB device therefore cutting off the charging potential. It is possible to circumnavigate that and leave me with both the ability to use USB devices and charge the tablet at the same time.

Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet many cannot afford... AWM 2003

I am also interested if there is any device that will charge X80 Pro while in OTG mode.

However, you do not need that to install Windows 10 anniversary update. I’ve just updated using the internal SD card reader only.
