    Leave the tablet to discharge for approx 1 week and then recharge. This happened to my grandsons tablet, exactly the same conditions/symptoms and has not happened since?

    Thank you so much for your response and for registering to participate in the forum. Purely by accident, I did exactly as you advise. As you’d expect, everything works again!

    I’m happy to report that I too have had no issues with the device since.
