Never Mind….. I got it to work.

in case anyone with a HG5N is having issues as well….I started with the instructions here:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/teclast-x98-air-ii-t2935267/page7

However, trying to use the .BAT in the bios.rar did not work. The CMD would not find any files. I could make out the options screen, but if you tried entering a number (to flash, root, etc) it would not work.

What I did in the end was flash the ORIG 4.4.4 2.0 rom with stock UpdateIFWI (installing the apk didn’t seem to work it would just sit at upgrading).

I then flashed the bios with the bios file located in the X98-Air II-WIN8 bios.rar ….. which FINALLY WORKED!!

now I just need to install windows

I have also a x98 air II (HG5N), i want to install a dual boot Bios in order to install win8.1 and upgrade to android 5.

My stock official Rom doesnt have the UpdateIFWI, I tried installing it but didnt work (stayed at “upgrading” message….).

So i decided to follow your advise and install the ORIG 4.4.4 2.0 rom with stock UpdateIFWI, i loaded  the rom to the Intel manufacturing tools and tried to enter DNX mode (fast boot mode), i am new to these procedures, i followed the Chris Youtube guide, but my tablet doesnt enter Dnx mode when i press Vol+- and power buttons simultaneously, it just boots normally to android. Do i have to install something to my tablet, to enter DNX mode?

I want to use Bios 2.02, is it appropriate for HG5N tablet?
