X98 Air III – removing the screenshot / volume buttons

Hello,

I am considering to buy the X98 Air III for my father to replace his original iPad which is getting very old.

Is there any easy way to remove the screenshot and volume buttons from the bottom and leave just the 3 main buttons? I am afraid that 7 buttons at the bottom will be a bit too much for him and he might be pressing the screenshot button by mistake.

I’ve seen a custom ROM that does this for the X98 Air II, but I don’t know if this will work with the III and I have never flashed a custom ROM before so I don’t know how complicated it would be. (the X98 Air III is just Android 5 – no windows, and I want to keep it that way as he will not need windows)

The Custom ROM from Mirek (mirek190_rom_v6.0 – android Lollipop) have only 3 Buttons and works fine with the AIR III.

It has all the available info and files for Mirek’s roms.  That said…

I’d also love some concrete instructions on how to install the rom.  Specifically, which of Mirek’s roms I should be flashing on to my 32Gb Air III.  The information on Mirek’s developer page is a little conflicting as he says to install the Air II version while others say the Air 3G version is the only one that will work – and I don’t want to brick my device!  Help!!!

Additionally, can you use his custom built flash tool or should I use MFT?

Has anyone successfully flashed the mirek rom to their Air III?  If so, I’d love to know specifically what you flashed and how you flashed it!
