    Hey Vitor,

1.) There is a download section on TechTablets: http://techtablets.com/downloads-drivers-roms/

You can find most of the needed drivers there, with the exception of the 3G modem’s I assume.

I’ll backup my drivers with Double Driver, if you need them.

2.) I think so, at least there was a 2.5A 5V charger in my box. This tablet is kinda picky with the chargers, and the Raspberry Pi 3’s power supply proved to be a lot better than the one given, so I advice you to install Battery Bar, try a few chargers, and see if one is better than the other.

Have fun with your tablet, and have a nice day!

    hei stormchild thx.

for now i’m not needing drivers. did not try sd cards but 3g is working perfectly just had to insert sim card.

do you think battery bar is reliable with this tablet’s battery? if so it really has a low average power much lower than my wife’s encore2 toshiba (2gb, z3735, 10.1 tablet).

also whats the stated capacity in yours? mine states 8207 mWh

just noticed thatbmy toshiba tablet states to have 23028mWh ratedvpower vs 8207 in mine….highl doubt that.using batterybar pro in both.

also and more grave: scrolling up and now quickly in gmail is way too smoother in the toshiba than in mine…whats happening!?!

    Hello,

I don’t know if Battery Bar is reliable or not, but it was pretty accurate – it stated over 10 hours battery life left, and I was able to use the tablet for at least 10 hours. The x98 Plus 3G has an 8000 mAh battery, and the mW value Battery Bar displays seems to be inaccurate, because mWh = mAh × V, and I think these Li-Poly batteries has at least 3.7V, so it should display 29600 mW instead, which is more than your Toshiba tablet’s.

You can dump the horde of unwanted spies out of Windows 10 using W10 Privacy or utils like that, and you can apply the touchscreen reg-mod to make the touchscreen more responsive.

All in all, I kinda like this tablet – it has its own faults, but hey, if there was a Samsung or Apple logo on it, the price would be at least twice as high. ;)) The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 has a faster CPU, and the price is around the X98 Plus 3G’s, but it has a smaller battery, a smaller display while the resolution is the same, and it only has 2GB RAM instead of 4. I bought the X98 Plus 3G mainly because the dual OS, and the amazing battery life, and yeah, the battery depletes overnight when W10 or Android is running, but since I always switch my tablet off when I don’t use it, it’s not a problem for me.

hey stormchild thanks for the feedback. yeah, the mWh are not correct, hence the average power drain also not correct; but since both capacity and power requirement are affected by the same error, his estimate is ok lol 😉

Last night I left it idling, screen of, plugged in to a power meter socket that measures volts, amps, power factor and turns it to watts, pretty accurate gizmo; anyway, screen of the power was of about 2W, when I turned it on it rose to about 3 – 3.5 which is on par to the discharge rate that batterybar gives me for the toshiba tablet.

today I applied via teamviewer the touchscreen registry hack, later today I’m anxious to know how it behaves 😉

the thing that saddened me a bit more was the laggier feeling I have when browsing through my gmail on each tablet…I’m yet  to tweak windows further but I have already disabled most of windows 10 “privacy” stuff…but even so, it’s slower than teh toshiba tablet…

You’re welcome, Vitor! Yeah, this tablet is underclocked to achieve the longest possible battery life, and the 2048×1536 display doesn’t help too much… ;)) That’s why most of the average cheapo tablets have only 720p displays – to let you feel everything’s so smooth and fluid on it. :))

Well, I’m playing on my Note 4, which has a lot stronger HW, and also has a QHD display, but it was a lot more expensive than the X98 Plus 3G. :)) That means I won’t play too much on this tablet – it’s too big to hold for hours, and it’s not the most powerful out there, but it’s 100% perfect for reading books and manuals on it, and that’s why I bought it. (The Note 4 has a 5.7” display, and when I found out that most of the ebook readers only have a slightly larger display with 6”, buying a tablet like this seemed to be a better idea.)

I hope you’ll find your tablet useful too! :))

    Have a nice day, y'all!

hmm, you gave me an ideia; i’ll scale down the resolution to 1024×768 to see how it behaves; if then is on par with my toshiba tablet, indeed the GPU is so chocked that it can’t keep up with the higher res. tonight I’m gonna try it and let you know how it went.

    hi,

well, scalled down the res to half and it didn’t help, still much more sluggish than the encore 2 tablet ….. I’ downloading windows to do a clean install, hope that will solve things.

Hey Vitor, I also got my teclast x98 plus tablet from Gearbest too and i was surprise that mine did not come with a charging adapter. I currently used my phone charger (5v/1A) to charge it which takes around 7 hours to full charge the battery. Gearbest sells a black 5v/2.5A adapter for around $4. I bought one but i have not receive it as yet, i think this 5V/2.5A adapter will reduce my charging time to around 4 1/2 hours.

Anyway though i am wondering if a charging adapter came with the tablet and Gearbest removes it, because my tablet box actually came open with windows already setup and i have seen other seller of this tablet that shows it does comes with an adapter.

hi kvn, yeah, exactly as mine. the inside package was opened (not at customs or anything as the outside one was as pictured) and windows was already installed, no sign of the charger — I did not dispute with gearbest as in the listing of what’s in the box they didn’t referr the charger–I’m guessing that as it was being sold at a lower price, someone, somewhere, was selling the chargers separately at a higher cost…

I’m using a 2A charger that came with my wife’s tablet, works pretty fine.

As Usual with electronic component with battery, x98 comes normally with a charger.

Has anyone been able to verify if the 3G version has a voice radio built-in for making and receiving phone calls?   (I don’t mean voice over IP but actually a voice radio like a full function smartphone.)

I have seen this advertised as a phablet and other times as a tablet with 3G for internet surfing. Please advise.
