In android the auto-brightness setting is not available. Is light sensors not available in x98 plus tablet ?

Also can you recommend any screen dimming apps (based on time of the day).

Edit: It is the A5C8 dual-boot tablet, and I am using Mirek’s android rom.

I am using Lux. It can be configured to use the front camera as a light sensor and adjust the brightness dynamically.

Do you see any noticable battery usage because of this app.

Also reading vicuzoho’s comment in this thread http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/screen-flickering/ , it mentions that x98 plus does have a backlight managing circuit called PWM.

I wonder if the auto-brightness not visible is only an issue in Mirek’s rom.

Can anyone using the stock Teclast rom confirm if they can see auto-brighness option in their settings ?

I used stock for about a week. There was no “auto brightness” setting. Understandable as the tablet does not have a light sensor.

Lux uses data from the camera to adjust the backlight. I did not see any difference in battery usage and it is considerably easier on the eyes.
