X98 Pro or?

hi everybody!

first of all – great site which helped me a lot… love it.

i planning to get a new tablet but im not 100 percent sure…

i currently on a asus transformer book t100ta with 10 inch

• Intel Atom Z3740 1,3 Ghz
• 2 GB Ram
• 32 GB ROM (too small)

well it works but its no a high performer. so its time for a new one… smaller one 🙂

i’ve been reading the article of the X98 Pro with the heat issues. Does it heat up in normal use, too?

im not a hardcore gamer. im using it for browsing, movies and car diagnostics.

Otherwise i will buy the X98 Plus but im uncertain that its “underpowered”

Hi,

 

It can get up to 70 degrees with that kind of use. Pushing the system hard like watch a 4k clip or 1080 60fps even might get the temps up to around 85 degrees on the CPU. But to the touch it’s only warm. The clocks will throttle down a little until it cools. Performance is a step up from the T100ha, and definitely much faster than the X98 Plus.

What the X98 Plus has going for it is a very good battery life of over 7 hours, maybe even up to 8.

Hi Patrick,

If you get the x98 pro and you worry about heat, there is simple solution to the issue, the thermal mod tutorial provided by Chris. I haven’t modded mine and I don’t experience any heat issues – I don’t game on the tablet though. For everyday tasks you indent doing it should work too. I intend to mod mine when I receive the thermal pads, reason because I want to try lightroom and see if I can do some editing on the fly with this tablet.
