X98 pro will only boot to bios and display bios options

I got mine working back and now i have reloaded my android 5.1 and windows 10 with the files provided in the download section, i kept on doing so many things which am not sure which one fixed it, but i had to get an external keyboard with 2 usb port to see if i could control the command prompt from windows installation after it fails, Mind you i as trying to load windows first, not android, but i could not get to the diskpart

 

so i restarted the device with the keyboard mouse and WINPE usb connected in dualboot mode by power button and volume up, it went into bios, then i set OS Image id to “Dual” and “Windows” and i set the boot option to the UEFI mass storage. ten i restarted by pressing power button and volume up key, and i was surprise to see the dual boot screen come up.

I went straight into android not wanting to boot windows to avoid this error, I checked my storage and noticed it was still 20GB of space, meaning windows was still sitting in there somewhere.

then i booted straight into DNX FASTBOOT Mode and flashed android, it completed without any errors this time, i guess something i did along the line reset and revived the emmc, after loading and flashing android,  i picked u my WINPE usb and i connected it to my x98 pro, and i made sure i did dualboot startup instead of normal start up, and windows logo was a bit different, so i tapped on it, and it started reading from my USB and windows installed i about 15 minutes, the whole process was automatic, i didnt need to do any other thing, i was so very happy i could get my Device up and running, using it in windows to make this post.

 

 

 

N.B: if one way or the other you get your device up and running, please preferably for about a day or two if you need to restart use, the dual boot start up, which is the POWER BUTTON+ VOLUME UP= DUAL BOOT

Maybe a little off-topic but I’ve had the same issues with a surface tablet. Working in windows 10, had a crash (a critical process died) and afterwards only booting to the BIOS

It seems to be something with secure boot and the loaded keys.

I know it doesn’t solve the issue but maybe it’s helping with troubleshooting.

I’ve erased the keys for secure boot and installed the factory default keys, from that point it recognized ti’s drive again. Before that, from winpe in diskpart it didn’t see any drive in there

We dont have so well developed BIOS to mess with keys.

Anyway mine Teclast is not even turning on now ) A complete faulty unit.

And tomorrow it’s goind back to its homeland – China.

Os select screen is empty. If I starting tablet with POWER+VOLUME UP, I see just white screen without any logos.

When eMMC manufacturer is Hynix, seems this problem occurs.
Recent X98Pro eMMC has been switched to Hynix from Samsung.

On bbs.teclast told me that this is a problem with the hardware. if the boot override is empty, it’s need repair from the manufacturer or exchange a device.

Mine is stuck in Bios now too.. I can´t press the power and volume up – nothing happends on my tablet just keep going back to bios. My god this is a shitty tablet. :/

Mine got stuck at 36% aswell, no eMMC… Im gonna try Tofades guide. I tried to download the win10pe from the dowload section here but the webpage doesnt work no more. Is there another source somewhere?

Got this answer from Aliexpress:

Charge the tablet fully and then keep pressing “power” button and “volume up” button at the same time, it will go into a  page to choose OS.

Step2:  Re-install windows(Only the tablet can go to a page to choose OS by step1, this step can be operational)

Mine also began booting into BIOS and rebooting into dead screen bios.  I left it alone for a few days.  Came back and the screen was stuck in fastboot DMX mode.  Restarted it and everything was fine.  If you hold down the power and vol down buttons after it’s been powered off then as soon as you see the teclast Chinese writing let go and you get into fastboot DMX mode.  Then power down again and power up you should be fine.

 

I tell ya something is wrong with these tablets.  I was tempted to buy the X2 pro but after my experiences with this X98 Pro no way.  No more tablets from aliexpress.

As for now im trying to send my tablet back to china. My eMMC is dead and gone.. It cant be find in bios, dnx fastboot nor diskpart.

My X98Pro also emmc is dead and could not be recovery,
it was sent back to banggood.
