I’ve removed both Surfaceflinger fix and shutting down two cores on low battery and no problems in six days. v6, of course.

Both can be removed with a root explorer without reflashing. I will keep testing until next week and if no problem found I will explain how to proceed or release a system.img image for flashing.

A new ROM would be great. The tablet with V6 gives to much crashes. Me wife won’t even use it anymore.

Reflashing it to V3 results in a frozen tablet with chinese teclast logo on the screen. Reflashing to V6 works, but that doesn’t solve the crashes.

 

Wat about the new release of Mirek he would try to post ‘this week’ 3 months ago? Is he still alive?

just received my x98 pro, and installed mirek v6 following it’s simple guide, no problem at all so far, let’s see in the next days. Any plans to update the rom Mirek? thank you for your work

And why apex launcher though(NOVA Launcher FREE comes with a lot of addons and tweaks), during first boot in portrait mode none of the icons popped up.

Found a bug, if not posted.

The settings not to disable wifi on screen of don´t works. My Wifi always toggles off if the screen goes off.
Then i have to turn on flight modus and disable it, to get wifi working again. Very annyoing.

Will there be a V7 for our teclast x98 pro at anytime @mirek? Are you still alive? 🙂

Inside /system/codecs there are two scripts. Both are made by Mirek. You have to use a root explorer (for example ES File Explorer in root mode) in order to deal with them.

First one is looking each two seconds for CPU speed. If it’s at 1.5Ghz, then cores 2 and 3 are enabled. If not, cores 2 and 3 are disabled. It’s questionable if letting two cores at 1.5Ghz is more power friendly than four at 700Mhz, for example. I’ve moved that script elsewhere.

Second one, is looking for sufarceflinger service each two seconds. If broken, it restart this service. This was added by mirek prior v3. I’ve also moved elsewhere and since I didn’t noted any unexpected behaviour I think it’s not needed.

I’m also testing by disabling GPU acceleration at Developer options inside settings menu.

i have a problem with the mireks Rom. I flashed it, before i created a googleaccount in the former version, so now, after flashing the rom android asks me to activate my account with the former specs. I do not have any. Is there a possibility to create a new one? i cant use android so far.

You just have to sign in with any google account. if you can’t remember the password then try the forgot my password links on google. Otherwise just create a new account

I removed the scripts but still crashes. Tab is more responsive, but one day after change i got crashes for 2 hours: crash, restart, crash….. Now it’s running for 2 days without problems. I think the problem is not really related to the scripts.

I encounter more problems if apps with wlan are used like Firefox. Also screen orientation changes seems to be a problem, if i ste screen to landscape i get less crashes.

Yes, I also realized about it. On vacations I didn’t have wifi for most of the time and no locks in ten days. After coming back home, crashes came back again.

I’ve also played with delayed boot script (executed 30 seconds after boot) but no improvements. However I realized that in most of crashes both Chrome and Dropbox were involved. I’ve removed both and four days without locks. Chrome in particular was crashing due to “no GPU channels available”.

Still investigating, anyway…
