Xiaomi MI Max SD card problem

Guys/Chris, I have had my MI max for 4 months now and love the phone but for some unknown reason I can not delete anything off the SD card even when I use the delete and format tool in the settings. I’ve even removed the SD card and deleted everything on a pc and replaced the SD card with a different one and all the files re appear again! I’ve searched Google and I’m at my wits end here! I have no idea how to clear the SD card now. It also won’t let me cut items to the SD card. I’ve tried several sd cards and the items that I’m trying to delete off the original one then appear on the new sd card! I’m stumped, short of factory reset I don’t know what to do lol!!

Never had or heard of this issue before. It must be some bug or the Mi cloud thing restoring the files? Are you logged into your Mi account, maybe try logging out and look for backup apps.
