    Hello

I am liking my Chuwi Hi12 very much, but I’m finding that I don’t use the Android side very much at all. What I would like to do is to do a fresh install of Windows 10, with the Windows File for the the 8350 version found here , but deleting the Android partitions so that there is only the Windows one, and the System one.

I like to have the Android available too, so I was thinking of installing AmiDuOS in Windows after it is all set up.

What I would like to know is; for those that have done this, like Snorre Myrvik did as described in his post, what are your thoughts on the process. Are you glad that you did it, do you have any reservations about the results?

And from those who are in the know about all kinds of things that I can’t even conceive of; What are your thoughts about doing this? The dangers, the possible issues that might arise, the possibility/probability of success.

In Mr. Myrvik’s post it all turned out very well, and this would be the results that I would like to achieve myself. But I am wondering if, because this is has the Z8350 CPU, and therefore a different BIOS, might there be some differences from the drivers and such from the Z8300?

I am fairly Tech Savvy and have installed many versions of Windows on many machines over the years, but never in a Chuwi, and never in a Tablet.

One of the things I hope for in this post is to have a dialogue with people who know their stuff, so that we can clarify just what I would like to do, how to do it, and what kinds of things might pop up out of nowhere (like losing my Windows Licence).

There is too much that I do not know, and if you have the time, please help to educate me so that I can make an informed decision about whether to do this or not.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, and hopefully add your expertise and opinions.

    Todd

It might pay just to get the Windows 10 image from the official Chuwi website? This way Windows restore will be intact.

Z8350 might have a different bios, updated CPU ID codes etc. Mines the Z8300 version, but never done a fresh install, don’t see the need to. (Mostly use Android ROM anyway)

Thank you Blackburn, I appreciate the info. I am not sold on the idea myself, but I want to keep my options open. I’m also looking into Android emulators with the possibility of running one with a newer version of Android.
