Same issue here. Plug a USB keyboard and you’ll gain control of the bios again. I think this Bios is crippled on this setting.</p>
I’m actually thinking of doing this to install manjaro and Refind and switch back to regular “Windows” bios setting. It is the only way I managed to get a Manjaro USB stick to boot.
Edit : I confirm this works. I…[Read more]

What makes you say it’s Refind ?
Did someone managed to run linux without Refind ?

Hi. I am facing a strange issue with the touchpad of my lapbook. It freezes randomly : clicks and mouse control suddenly stop working. My USB mouse still works fine. A reboot on windows does not restore the touchpad. I have to open the laptop, unscrew the battery, and physically disconnect & reconnect the flat ribbon cable of the trackpad to…[Read more]

This is more or less what I also used.
I’ve purchased this ezBook 3 pro from Gearbest in August and received a V4. By now they might be selling a V5 🙂
Bindkey is only for zsh. I’m using Xmodmap https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/xmodmap
Create an ~/.Xmodmap file and it will be loaded automatically on boot. So yes it is system wide.
Also look at the xev utility if you want to try this.

I’m getting the same behavior probably a pooly designed keyboard. This breaks the Enter key in ZSH for example. Fortunately it is fairly easy to remap the correct key. I took the opportunity to remap F11 and F12 keys to home, end, page up and page down. I’m starting to think this lapbook can be usable as a linux machine !
Ah I don’t fancy KDE that much. I guess I’ll stick with Xubuntu for now.
Here is the link of the custom ISO I built and installed :
Posting this from custom Xubuntu installed on a second usb stick. It all seems fine. The image will install rEFInd by default so you don’t even have to bother to install it yourself. The trick is to boot the Linux kernel from rEFInd and not the Ubuntu grub menu selection.
It’s working so well I am wondering if I am going to bother with Manjaro…[Read more]
Hell I’m bored at work here is how to respin your own isos on a ubuntu computer or virtual machine :
Get all the info here : http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com/
1/ Install a few packages :
sudo apt-get install -y squashfs-tools xorriso
2/ Download the ubuntu flavor iso you want to respin.
3/ In the same folder download isorespin.sh from here :…[Read more]
All right. I’ll try to do it later today or in the weekend. If you could give me the account that would be easier for me. Also, as I’m new around here, Chris if you have a preferred solution to upload big files on the forum let me know.
In any case I’ll also put the command line I used. It is really easy to use if you want to respin your own ISO.
Thanks Chris I’ll try another Manjaro release.
In the evening I did manage to boot a custom Xubuntu 17.04 I created using the awsome isorespin.sh tool. So linux definitively boots on the jumper 3 pro V4. Sound and wifi were working. Firefox seemed a bit laggy. I did not try to install Ubuntu as I have no SSD yet. If someone really needs the…[Read more]
Hi had the same issue. Windows would not activate and updates were not working. It turns out that the Windows Update Service is not started automatically. Change this in the settings and it will enable windows activation and updates. I hope this helps !
Also there seems to be a few suspicious apps running on startup I advise you clean those up.…[Read more]

Edit : I’m marking this as solved as I abandonned the idea of using manjaro and am happy with my current isorespin xubuntu 17.04 installation.
Hi. I’m trying to boot linux from my new ezbook 3 pro. I have donwloaded manjaro-xfce-17.0.3-stable-x86_64.iso and used Rufus to burn the image. I have used the GPT for UEFI option as per earlier…[Read more]

I have just recieved the jumper EZbook 3 pro from Gearbest. For me this setting does not work.
If I select HS400 or HS200 in the bios windows won’t boot but display a blue screen 🙁
If I switch back to the original setting it works. Is there another setting or driver I am missing ?
