Same happened to me, I went all hype to root and installed Xposed on the Chuwi Hi8, turns out it really stuck in bootloop.
(Even the Xposed app itself prompt me an warning before install)
I used this method to get out from bootloop : http://wisdomgeek.com/android/how-to-disable-xposed-framework-on-boot/
1- Power off the Hi8 by holding the the power button.
2- Power on the Hi8 by holding the power button, till I see the Chuwi / Android Logo.
3- Then I keep on pressing the power button (keep pressing, not holding), till I see the Android lockscreen,
4- Go to Xposed app, then under Framework , click uninstall the framework.
5- Now my Hi8 is back to normal again.
Source says it only work on Xposed v2.5 or above, what a nice feature!
I will try to install the Xposed again using the recommended method. Will report if success!
Cheers!
