I bought mine in March (i5 version with MX150) and has been working great. The “normal” fan noise on the latest bios was better, in my case I don’t do heavy load most of the time and whilst travelling I use the battery saving mode which means passively cooled (no noise whatsoever).

The problem was when one of the fans started making grinding noises, which was solved temporarily by applying grease. After few months it started making noises again and the one on the other side too. I ended up purchasing 2 replacement fans from Aliexpress and replacing both today, and I am so glad I did as the noise has gone back to normal. The replacement fans had metal blades rather than plastic ones, I am not sure if that would make a difference.

On the battery, I get 6 to 7 hours during normal usage, and 9 ish on battery saving mode (no MX150 and processors running at 1 GHz tops). I don’t regret the purchase of the price, I love the keyboard, the screen and the speakers. I install a 970 512 SSD and it flies since, although I am still running to original OS in the original drive.

    Cheers
