HI all – just followed the instructions but having problem with touch screen driver – touch works while installing windows but once I install the backup drivers I loose touch screen. In device manager there is a problem with I2C HID device… I tried uninstalling the driver/device and reinstalling from the backup folder but it doesnt work.
I installed windows twice – once I let it connect to the internet and it updated all the drivers at first boot – this didnt work. Second time I installed windows without letting it go on the internet and manually updated the missing drivers in device manager (from the backup folder) but once the driver been updated and restarted I have lost touch (even without connecting to the internet at all)…
anyone with any idea? I read somewhere else that it could be a modified bios issue? have no idea why my bios would be modified or where I can get a new firmware for it…
UPDATE: managed to narrow down the issue after few re installations of windows and selective driver updating. It looks like the touch problem has something to do with the bluetooth driver. if i uninstall the intel bluetooth driver and restart touch comes back, if windows reload the driver touch driver fails again after restart
UPDATE 2: after spending all weekend trying to sort this out I think I have found the real issue. at one point I have reverted back to the backed up image of the original windows installation only to find out that I also had the problem there now… so after some more messing around I have found out that the issue only arise when I have too many peripherals connected to my USB 3 HUB.
Basically I have a 4 port USB 3 HUB connected to the USB 3 port on the tablet. To reinstall windows I have connected a keyboard, wireless mouse, external 2.5HD for data and drivers and a windows USB key for installation media. It seems that the touch fails to load when I had the keyboard, mouse and HD connected at start up – without the HD and everything was fine, without the mouse and everything was fine… I can connect them all fine AFTER windows start but not while booting…
Have no idea what is exactly going on… can only guess it could do with power draw of the peripherals or loading their drivers. In any case while I dont have a solution at least I have a workable setup as I dont need the HD connected all the time. Going to buy a USB c hub and see if it is better…
