And finally SUCCEEDED π
A beautiful Fresh W10 π
September 12, 2016 at 8:59 pm #49608@Prince: it looks like you don’t really shut down your tablet. If you want to power off your your tablet; in android: you have to push the power button for a few seconds; then a menu shows up were you can choose to really shut down.
September 11, 2016 at 4:49 pm #49466Tried a fresh W10 install. But it then get’s stuck in one of the most curious problems from the MS windows setup: “Setup was unable to create a new system partition ………” The partition is there (33 Gb), is formatted, primary etc….. But the message comes back en back…… Searched the internet for a solution; nothing worked (and there are dozens of people with the same problem… (with Wvista, W7, W10….. Microsoft…………)…. (solutions i’ve tried like taking out the USB drive or change the USB drive did not work). The only solution is to create a new partition and copy all the W10 setup files to it. And then boot from that and install W10. But that’s not an easy job. And it’s tricky within diskpart.
Maybe you saw this problem before with the x98? Or do you have a other solution?
The website has a normal speed again π
Update: on xda developers site i found that somebody was faced with the same problem with a Teclast 98 3G. He deleted the partitions 16-19 related to Windows; and then it worked. But he didn’t tell which partitions names. On this x98 pro there are less partitions; 16 total; 14 = MSR (16 MB), 15 = old windows installation partition and already formatted (primary)(33.3 GB) and 16 = recovery (500 NB).

So my question is: can i (do i have to…) delete partition 14, 15 and16?
September 5, 2016 at 9:31 pm #48983Hi Chris,
The links of Teclast x98 pro W10 dual; but you have uploaded them a few hours ago i saw. So Thx a lot !!
And Thx for replying to my problem ! I think i found the problem; the problem is the “main.cmd” script. In my opinion the W10 from the Teclast dual OS files can’t be installed separately, due the command lines in the script. Although not in an easy way.
The website is loading a bit quicker now. But (here in the Netherlands) still somehow slow; the first pageload takes about 4 seconds; see the test in the attachment.

TNX for your reaction ! I think i found the problem……
There is a main script with command lines to guide the W10 installation on the WinPE installation disk from Teclast. It’s the file “main.cmd”. And as far as i can read the commands, the script is written for an installation from zero…. So if i’m right you have to install Android for dual boot first; within this installation the disk is prepared for Windows too.
Or change the main.cmd file….
This means that you can never install separately W10 with the dual installation set from Teclast. The dual set is only meant to be installed both… And now i know why you have to name the disk WinPE… Or it can be done by first repartitioning the drives. But how can you get to the drives?
I’ve listed the drives when i was still in de windows installation shell; see the attached files.
And look at the command lines from the βmain.cmdβ script; it looks like a strange start…..:
@ECHO off
@REM This script is called by x:\Windows\System32\Startnet.cmd – WinPE
@ECHO.
@ECHO.
@ECHO.
@ECHO Running Intel Optimization powercfg for improved imaging times
@ECHO.
@ECHO call powercfg /s 8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c
CALL powercfg /s 8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c
@ECHO.
@REM *****************************************************************
@REM List all the disks, then search the volumes of each one to see
@REM which disks may have “Winpe” in the label. We will ignore that
@REM disk and use the first disk without the Winpe label that we find.
@REM *****************************************************************
@REM create diskpart script for list disk
@ECHO.>x:\listdisk.txt
@ECHO list disk>>x:\listdisk.txt
@ECHO exit>>x:\listdisk.txt
@ECHO x:\listdisk.txt
@ECHO call diskpart /s x:\listdisk.txt
CALL diskpart /s x:\listdisk.txt>x:\Disks.txt
@ECHO.
@REM Set Disk equal to blank to start
SET disk=
@ECHO.
@REM
@REM This line will write a diskpart script to select the disk and detail it’s contents.
@REM We use this output to find a disk that does NOT have Winpe as the volume label.
@REM That disk will have the OS installed to it. This way you can exclude USB from diskpart.
@REM
@REM This works around the issue where the USB key is sometimes enumerated as disk 0 and the
@REM SSD is disk 1.
@REM
FOR /f “skip=8 tokens=2” %%A IN (x:\Disks.txt) DO (
@ECHO sel disk %%A>x:\Par.txt
@ECHO det disk>>x:\Par.txt
@ECHO exit>>x:\Par.txt
IF NOT “%%A”==”DiskPart…” CALL :LISTPAR %%A
)
IF “%Disk%”==”” ECHO “No disk found without a volume label of WINPE” && SET disk=0
@ECHO Using Disk “%Disk%”
@ECHO.
@ECHO.
@ECHO.
@REM *****************************************************************

First booting to windows, then power off and then via the bios to boot override. Then the installation started…… but…… then it ran into the next problem…. “Failed to make w:\recycler\scratch directory”.
Does anyone know what is happening here??? I’ve googled around; found the problem at many sites, but couldn’t find the clue yet.
So who’s got the clue????
Or is Techtablets becoming a dead forum? Because there’s not much action around here. The website is getting very slow and the downloads are all dead links….. (for Teclast x98 pro)…..
August 27, 2016 at 11:34 pm #48256Hello Chris,
I’ve bought this tablet and the former owner has made the mistake “reset this computer” (he thought that he could wipe the settings of his account…); so now it boots into windows but stops suddenly with the message that the windows installation suddenly stopped. And that you have to reboot. But then you get the same message again….
Android works good. And there still is a dual boot menu.
How can i get windows working again?
I’ve got the windows 10 images unpacked to a bootable usb flash drive. When i choose this usb drive as first boot, nothing changes; it still stops in the same way. However the first time it booted from the usb drive, it said; “preparing” and then a blue windows screen appaeared which looked like some recovery mode. Then i choose the usb drive and then it got stuck again with the same message….
‘The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click “OK” to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. ”
And everytime i get to this message again….
So, what to do? Do you have a solution?
Chris from NL
I tried it with boot override; then i’m getting a blue screen: “this PC ran into a problem, but you can reset” …….
