Voyo VBook V3 (Core i5 7200U) Review

Reviewing tech from China as much as I try to select the good ones can result in receiving a lemon. The Voyo V3 i5 7200U had some promise but sadly leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

One paper the i5 7200U latest 7th Gen Intel 15W laptop chipset sounds great, and it is fast and so is the Samsung 256GB SSD. it even has a spare M.2 2242 SATA3 bay for adding another drive and 8GB of RAM. But where the Voyo vBook is a huge let down is the build quality. The press images made it look as if the Voyo Vbook V3 Core i5 version had a redesign, after all, a fan for cooling is in there. But, nope, it’s a minor change for the early models only to fit in a single copper heat pipe and the slim fan.

The keyboard or should I say, the trampoline is one of the worse I’ve typed on, a huge amount of bounce and flex. The interior of the laptop isn’t well design, bits glued in place and poorly done, no main internal frame only the metal around the screen hinge is where you’ll find metal.

One would have assumed that for the price of close to $600 USD the keyboard would have been improved, the screen brightness increased. Sadly, no. This one is best avoided unless you can find it for $200, even then the cheap keyboards and tablets I typically review are much better the Voyo vBooks V3’s keyboard.

At its current price it’s also more expensive than the Cube Thinker i35 with its premium screen and Surface Book fully laminated screen.
