In all fairness I did warn you about potential difficulties in merging 🙂
I’ve just found a partition map of the X98 Air 3g, if the Pro has the same layout you might not be able to merge them as you planned unless partition managers have improved since I last used them (which is very likely). I would try a fresh install.
I think it’s possible, but not easy, by booting http://gparted.org/livecd.php or similar and moving partitions around.
If it were not for the fact that you got an “acpi_bios_error” and couldn’t switch the device back on when you tried the Windows installation USB stick then I would recommend doing a fresh install. I know that on the X98 3G it’s possible to brick the device by attempting to install the wrong version (64/32 bit) of Windows. Some people have had to open the tablet and use an external programming device to recover. Which brings me back to the question above: When you tried booting the Windows installation stick and got the ACPI error were you using the 32bit or 64bit version? What are you running currently, i.e. what is working?
Just to make things neater I myself would try the fresh install and delete all existing partitions, but there is a risk and since it’s your device it’s your decision to make.
