Can you still get to the dual boot menu by turning off the tablet then turning on by holding the volume up and power buttons for 10 seconds?

Converting the tablet to Windows only is easy, create a installation pen-drive with Microsoft Media Creation tool, connect a USB hub to the tablet, connect USB keyboard and pen-drive, boot from pen-drive, launch Windows installation, delete all partitions on disk, install Windows normally.
December 4, 2015 at 12:17 pm #17541December 4, 2015 at 1:33 pm #17547OK, since I don’t own the device in question (yet) I won’t be able to offer specific help only general suggestions.
I would start by figuring out how to get into BIOS setup and boot from a USB stick.
Prepare your boot stick, Google “windows 10 media creation tool”.
You will need to connect a USB hub (ideally one with its own power supply) to your tablet and connect a keyboard and USB stick to the hub.
For the X98 pro I believe you have to hit ESC on you keyboard during startup to get into BIOS.
Once in BIOS dig around and see if you can find an option to boot from your USB stick.
When you can do this post back before installing.

To boot from pen-drive press F7 during boot, it will show a boot menu.
Windows 10 should activate automatically, if you install Windows 10 home, the license is included on the tablet.
December 4, 2015 at 2:17 pm #17555Hi,
I figured out how to enter the BIOS, it’s by pressing the F7 button on a keyboard. I just bought a USB hub and created an Windows 10 pendrive.
Next: I’m not able to select the pendrive as a boot device in the BIOS.
December 4, 2015 at 2:58 pm #17559Okay, one step at a time, I suppose….
Using another Pen Drive I was able to select the Pen Drive to boot from.
Then it crashed (W10 blue screen) with error message: “acpi_bios_error”

Can you start up by holding both volume buttons and power?
December 4, 2015 at 3:37 pm #17573Yes, I’m sure it’s the X98 Pro (at least, that’s what it says on the back)
When I start up holding both volume buttons, I get the startup logo and in little text: “DNX FASTBOOT MODE..”
December 4, 2015 at 4:18 pm #17576OK, that’s fine.
I know you want to ditch Android but are you OK with putting it back for the moment? This might not actually be necessary but I don’t this device well enough to say for certain.
I would download all the needed files from here:
http://techtablets.com/teclast-x98-pro/downloads/
Then do this:
December 4, 2015 at 4:38 pm #17577I forgot to mention two important things:
- DON’T try and flash the BIOS.
- You will lose all data on your device!
December 4, 2015 at 4:54 pm #17578Well…. there’s a little problem with that… I can’t download all files needed. ‘X98 PRO Windows 10 20150902(WinPE+images)’ can’t be downloaded. Can I download them elsewhere?
December 4, 2015 at 7:46 pm #17634Try from this post.
December 4, 2015 at 7:56 pm #17636Thanks Roibeard, I completely missed that thread.
Quinternet, to start with try just the first part of the video to see if you can get your device to a working state (even if it is just Android).
December 4, 2015 at 9:38 pm #17653Hi Jonathan,
This worked… it took some time because the tablet wouldn’t startup at all anymore. When it did, I flashed it and Android runs again…
How to proceed from here?
