yeah i tried messing around with the setting and there are usually little to no changes, we will need throttlestop to support the apollo lakes before we will notice a appreciable increase in battery life.

In the BIOS you can set speedstep to disabled, and that will be lock the clock speed on all 4 cores to 800mhz.

I thought the power restriction was removed on the v4 models? Or it was just “unlocked” in the bios so the user can choose to unlock it there by themselves and not rely on some janky register hack? 🙂

Fresh windows, all new drivers, except two with code 10, intel graphics set to max performance, 6w, getting 5:30 h from 100. When it just came to me without fresh install had 6:30 h. Dunno why the lower times.

I’m getting about 9-12 hours at 40% brightness. But it’s mostly me studying pdf files. Turning off wifi certainly helps a bit.

Also you need to consider that Adobe flash consumes a lot of battery life. It is about an hour difference depending on your usage.

It’s an unlocked bios, so you can disable the power settings if you like.

I also had 6:30 originally but I’m now getting 5:30. I think it has to do with updating the graphics drivers but I’m not sure.  Resetting the bios to defaults doesn’t seem to help.
