For Windows 7 x64 the basic but decent Microsoft Security Essentials has done right by me for ~6 years. Not sure if Win10 brings in other considerations that might make it less appropriate.

Hi Peter,
I installed AmiDuOs a few days ago. I also have ZoneAlarm free firewall and antivirus installed. I just checked, and the two will run at the same time with no problems.
I find that AmiDuOs is fairly laggy. I have an Android tablet also, so I will wait a few months until Teclast gets the bugs ironed out of the (hopefully) soon to be released dual boot bios and crappy Teclast native android rom!Max
December 17, 2015 at 7:20 am #18918Thank you both for update on antivirus. I will also wait a while when dual os cones out for bugs to be ironed out since i prefer win on this tablet; but it is nice to have a choice if you need android.
Has anybody tried something like this:
Looks nice, will have to try it out when i will have time. I like that it runs from sd card or usb and you have whole disc space just for win. Hopefully when you install it on usb or sd it can run on any computer. will have to try it.

Peter, I read here that the latest release of Android x86 does not support the cherry trail soc. I have used it on several desktops and laptops/netbooks and I have to say I was not all that impressed. The video drivers are often flaky and unless you have an i7, the performance is less than stellar IMHO.
I would like to make a usb boot stick with Linux Mint on it, but I seem to remember that someone here said that the latest Linux kernel still doesn’t support cherry trail yet, let alone video acceleration via the GPU. Both Linux and Android x86 are basically useless without working GPU support.
I’m sure that in a month or so both will support our tablet as the cherry trails are starting to get into peoples hands.

December 19, 2015 at 12:25 pm #19185Ok. thnx for the info. ill see if i will have time to play around and try it anyway.just curious. i also want to know if you make sd card bootable on one pc/laptop does it also work on the others or not. or is it laptop/tablet dependent.
December 30, 2015 at 5:42 pm #20585I managed to get android running off a live usb drive using a marshmellow image I found at xda.
Runs very fast, even off a old crappy verbatim usb drive – faster than windows 10 by a long shot. Downside is nothing really works, no sound, battery indicator is always 0 but shows charging when plugged in, the touchscreen and wifi do not work.
Going to see if I can repurpose some of the x98 pro drivers, though i’ll probably have to grab a android 5.1 image.

December 31, 2015 at 6:39 pm #20744Well try as I might I can’t boot from a android install, only from the live USB. Not sure if secure boot is interfering or if something else is happening.
I haven’t had to guts to try the Android-IA that the x98 pro uses since it involves a bios flash.
January 1, 2016 at 11:49 am #20843Looks like in order for android to boot it needs to be installed on a partition formatted to fat32…. strange.

January 9, 2016 at 1:43 pm #21660There is a version of the remix OS for x98 air II (III?) but I haven’t tried it on the plus yet.

From the Teclast forums there seems to be some affiliation between them and Remix. Maybe the reason teclast can’t release the new dual system is because it IS Remix 2.0. and the gold date is the 12th of January. If so the conversion to dual boot will be very different from the Pro or 3G. Time will tell what we will get!

January 26, 2017 at 7:08 pm #60977Thinking for PC security is good because there is many information you saved as work or personal details and other like images, videos, contacts so keep it secure by using avast antivirus service, and for support you can contact our Avast customer service number and receive total support for avast antivirus.
