Black screen with cursor the display restarts

Had my F7 for a few weeks now and only used occaisionaly.  It has had a very annoying issue ever since it arrived:

• periodically the screen freezes for a few seconds
• then goes black just showing the cursor for a few more seconds
• then the display kicks in again

This can happen several times in a minute or it may happen a few minutes apart.

 

Things I have tried:

• reinstall fresh windows 10
• update intel display driver
• when issue persisted – removed the display driver and used Microsoft driver

I am at a loss. Can anyone help me please?

If it has this problem since day 1, why did you not contact your dealer instantly?
this looks like a hardware problem, maybe cable related.

Took a while to get round to using it in earnest and then thought it was a software issue so tried the other things I listed.

Do you have any helpful suggestions?

During the windows install process I didn’t experience the issue once.
