Hopefully someone has better success than me, I’m not sure the CH341 with 1.8v adapter is going to do the job. I hooked it up but it doesn’t seem to make any difference if the clip is attached or not. It can go through the motions of programming but when I do a read the buffer is full of “00” and verify fails. There were no instruction that came with either adapter or programmer. The programmer software doesn’t have an exact match for W25Q64FW, closest is W25Q64BV.

On a basic level the adapter is working as I have measured 3.3v on pin 1 of the CH341 and 1.8v on pin 1 of the adapter.

Wow thanks Richard, you were right, I was using an old version of CH341 sw. With the new version and correct chip selected I was able to erase, blank, write and verify the latest BIOS version. Windows took a few goes to reboot and repair itself and android is working.

Hello Bill, It would be great if you could make a video tutorial showing the steps ?

My tablet was down for a couple of weeks waiting for the tools so now I’m enjoying having it back together and don’t plan to re-open it unless I have to. Feel free to ask questions if you get stuck though.

Bill you did a great job, I am still waiting delivery for my stuff from Ali express and my tablet is still open. I will try in the coming days to add some informations to your tutorial aimed at people with no previous experience in disassembly, checking, and working on high tech circuit boards.

    Good job Bill!

Thanks a lot Bill Christiansen for the tutorial ! Does this work for the HI10 ?

This process should work for any tablet with an SOIC-8 chip and a bios file specifically for your tablet from Chuwi, just use a magnifying glass to verify the type of chip being flashed, as it may or may not be the same winbond chip that the Hi12 uses. The CH341a supports many chips so make sure it’s the right one before flashing your bios
