Chuwi hi12 dead after firmware update

Hi guys.

I have been searching the forum and my question must be answered somewhere but I cant find it.

I bought a chuwi Hi12 recently. Everything was working quite ok for a few hours. I updated windows, I charged the tablet completely. I downloaded the firmware update to avoid problems with the battery… The BIOS update was just fine. The output was the same than a video tutorial that I found in youtube. Once the update finished I tried to switch on the tablet, but the amber light was blinking. I tried a couple of times with same result. After that, the light wasn’t blinking anymore, and there is no sign of life in the tablet.

The tablet stopped working right after the update. I tried some basic troubleshoot that I saw around. But the tablet didn’t respond at all to any of these actions. Any ideas or advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Your Chuwi is dead.

What is your model? Chuwi HI12 Z8300 or Z8350?

I think that you flashed a bad BIOS.

For this reason you must flash your Chuwi by hardware. I made last weekend, it’s not difficult, but you must shop a programmer, adapter to 1.8V, Torx nº4 and clip chip.

• Clip SOIC SOP8 EEPROM 93CXX/25CXX/24CXX (2.54 €)
• Flexsteel 10 unid CR-V Torx (T3 T4…..) (1.59 €)
• Electric welder (soldering iron) 40W max. (about 12 €)
• Tin reel

PD (reprogramming Bios is very very slow…. about 1,5 hours, and remember too, this procedure dont work in Windows 10, you can make a virtual machine installing windows 7 (32bit) Withh VMWare)
