Same issue on my end, received the VI10 Ultimate together with the keyboard dock and it does not work. Will check today the dock with my cousin’s VI10 pro but assume it will work.
January 15, 2016 at 11:42 am #22417Where did you buy it from?
I bought from Gearbest, and they told me to ship it back to them for a replacement, but I’m afraid they won’t verify the replacement works with the keyboard and i’ll end up with the same issue..
January 15, 2016 at 11:44 am #22418My purchase is also from Gearbest…. I dont think this is a hardware issue, will test it today and confirm.
January 20, 2016 at 8:21 am #23100I ordered Chuwi VI10 Ultimate from AliExpress and keyboard dock is not working. I did the mistake of ordering the keyboard dock (Chuwi original) from another seller.
At first thought it must be the keyboard that’s broken and ordered another one from Banggood.com.
Well…that one is not working either. So I’m at the point where I don’t want to order any more keyboards as I think the issue is with the tablet. Escalated the dispute from tablet in AliExpress, but Ali has responded that I should have proof that the keyboards work. Not easy to prove that as I don’t know anyone with a working Chuwi VI10 in my country.
Would be really glad if somebody figured out a software solution.
I tried the USB mouse trick in BIOS but with no success.
January 20, 2016 at 8:42 am #23101It doesn’t seem like a software issue, as mine had the exact same issue.
Shoot a video where you show that three keyboards don’t work.. What are the chances that they are all defective?
Also add a link to this forum.. It is a well known problem by now. I am starting to believe the Ultimate version was not tested very well before shipping..
I sent mine back for a replacement, with a specific request to test it with a keyboard before shipping it back to me..
January 20, 2016 at 8:52 am #23102Kobi Azar, thanks for your reply.
I have bought 2 keyboards from which I threw 1 to the trash already as I was trying everything and finally opened it and checked the connectors like somebody suggested in another topic (they were OK). eventually ripped it in pieces as I got angry and ordered a new one.
I have sent video to AliExpress from which they replied “Invalid reason: The tablet is working fine in your video. Buyer cannot prove the problem is caused by tablet. Proof guide: Please make a new video and test the tablet with a normally working keyboard from CHUWI official.” . For me it’s not possible to make this proof :/ Not really a great experience on Buyer Protection currently.
January 20, 2016 at 8:59 am #23103That’s the main problem with Aliexpress, you’re “in their hands” and they’re very far from eBay and PayPal’s standards of customer service..
I can think of two options:
- Are you entitled to return the device for a refund regardless of the malfunction? It may be a satisfactory solution.
- Some credit card companies act as another layer of protection for the customer. Try contacting your credit card company directly and ask for their assistance with getting a refund for defective goods.
January 20, 2016 at 9:04 am #23104Thanks again!
It will cost a lot to send the device back to China and I don’t want to risk on losing more money that way.
Will probably try solution 2 if Ali isn’t helpful.
January 26, 2016 at 7:01 am #23799Kobi Azar,
have you had any progress with your Chuwi VI10 Ultimate? My tablet’s seller in AliExpress suggested on updating the BIOS. He sent me this link to a BIOS update (3.65Gb):
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1skfT10L?qq-pf-to=pcqq.c2cUnfortunately I cannot download file this big from Baidu. It’s painfully slow and the download just stops and unable to resume at some point (even with download manager).
January 27, 2016 at 8:20 am #23941I sent it back to Gearbest for replacement.
I don’t believe this is a BIOS issue. Also- BIOS images are substantially smaller then 3.56Gb, so I suspect your link includes a complete Windows 10 image..
January 28, 2016 at 8:34 am #24115Hi,
I’d like to share with you what I’m experiencing..
I bought two pieces of chuwi VI10 Pro from Gearbest and two pieces of “original” chuwi Keyboard from a Aliexpress seller
One of the two chuwi doesn’t recognize any of the two keyboards
The other chuwi works perfectly with the two keyboards..
The problem seems to be on the tablet…how can I troubleshoot this ? I tried a factory reset without success..and think now there is a software difference between the two tablets..maybe the bios is not the same version..how can I check this ?
thanks for any help,
