Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30May 23, 2015 at 12:31 pm #5629You should try this tool from http://www.tablette-chinoise.net (a french website on chinese tablets) : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4u_5raZ4G7wVHVuT2xPV3dhcUU/view?usp=sharing
This tool is supposed to root all Intel tablets, so it may work !
– Extract the tool
– Enable USB debugging on the tablet
– Connect the tablet to your computer
– Run “3 Root-tablette-chinoise.net.bat” as Administrator (if needed, drivers are “1 IntelAndroidDrvSetup1.5.0.exe” and “2 iSocUSB-Driver-Setup-1.0.4.exe”
– It should automatically root the tablet and reboot it
– Check with Root Checker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck)I will receive my tablet soon from 18th sale ! If you find a way to root it, please tell us !
(Sorry for my bad English !)
May 23, 2015 at 7:46 pm #5639Hi gecko42,
Unfortunately it’s the same tool I used (English version) and it did not work. It’s the same root toolbox that worked on the X98 Air 3G, Chuwi Vi8 and many others but not this Vi10. I’m not sure what I should try next on the tablet to see if I can root it.
This is where it goes wrong:
. uid=2000(shell) gid=2000(shell) groups=1003(graphics),1004(input),1007(log),1011 (adb),1015(sdcard_rw),1028(sdcard_r),3001(net_bt_admin),3002(net_bt),3003(inet), 3006(net_bw_stats) context=u:r:shell:s0 . . If ID above - 0/root, Everything will goes well. . If otherwise, press CTRL + C to cancel. Press any key to continue . . .
It’s not displaying or getting 0/root, so the rest fails:
Please let me know if you find any breakthroughs in getting root on the Chuwi Vi10, it would be nice to get the DPI from 160 to something that doesn’t make the screen look all blurry in Android. Windows it looks fine.

Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30June 2, 2015 at 5:01 pm #5850I think I found a way to root the tablet (I’ll also test, I received the tablet today !) !
I’ve found it here : http://www.tablette-chinoise.net/forum/chuwi-vi10-t7085 (which is from http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096)
– Install adb / fastboot drivers for the tablet
– Enable USB debugging
– Download SuperSU (http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu)
– Download IntelAndroid-FBRL (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722644693)
– Copy UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip to the tablet
– Uncompress IntelAndroid-FBRL on your computer
– Launch “launcher.bat” from IntelAndroid-FBRL folder
– Type “ACCEPT”
– Check if device status and device information are OK, then type “T3”
– The tablet should reboot in fastboot mode, and after another auto-reboot, CWM recovery should show up
– Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip
– Reboot !June 2, 2015 at 11:02 pm #5855Great, looks promising. I have yet to try this. Did it work for you? How do you find your Vi10?

Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30June 3, 2015 at 8:47 pm #5867It worked fine ! This method should also work on Chuwi VI8 (and we have also a temporary CWM session) !
I have the tablet since yesterday (I bought it from the 18th May sale on Aliexpress) and I’m quite impressed ! It looks like a high-end tablet for a low price (good finition quality + perf) ! Both systems are really smooth and agradable, switching is quite fast. I hadn’t used a touchscreen on Windows, and it’s really cool. Cameras and data rates are the black spot (I think).
I got 35539 on Antutu, quite near the Nexus 5, I am not disappointed for now !June 8, 2015 at 7:43 pm #5896Hi Gecko,
Great news! Thanks for that. I will try and get round to getting root on mine. I’m mostly using Windows to be honest so didn’t really bother me. What’s a good DPI you think for the screen so it will look sharper? It’s blurry in Android, I plan to adjust the DPI in the build.prop.
Are you using it with a keyboard? I find the original Chuwi Vi10 keyboard is really quit good. Glad you like your one, yes the cameras are not good and data rates I fine are fine, wifi is good for me.
Do you have any issues powering yours on? I think it might just be my unit. And what do you think of the 1366 x 768 screen? Not a deal breakers is it? For me personally, I think Chuwi have done a great job with this tablet. If they add a 1080p screen and 64GB version it will be perfect.

the 7gb partition tried to make it smalers but android didn’t boot after (didn’t know android was on the 7gb space also) so i now have a 7gb drive + yeahhJune 13, 2015 at 2:28 am #5936Chris,
I received my tablet yesterday and have been tinkering with it. I agree with you that the screen is very nice albeit only 1366×768. I found that the hardware type is same to Microsoft Surface 1 screen : Samsung LT106AL01. Great tablet but the only limitation is 32GB eMMC which push me to delete android partition in order to gain more space.
Can you help me which partition is safe to delete?i just deleted android lol
the 7gb partition tried to make it smalers but android didn’t boot after (didn’t know android was on the 7gb space also) so i now have a 7gb drive + yeahhHello regilio, Which partition is safe to delete? i noticed there are two 1Gb, one 7Gb, one recovery partition 5.27gb, and also several small partitions 64,32,16 Mb

Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30June 17, 2015 at 8:56 am #6021Hello everyone.
Could you ( Regilio or Chris) please give a complete guide about how to delete the android partition?I think that the tablet could be more useful with more space on windows partition. But I m not sure that the boot procedure will work once the android part will be deleted.
June 26, 2015 at 9:52 am #6201Hi there
thanks chris for your review . I Bought the Chuwi Vi10 on your impartial reviews. The Andorid screen is a little blurry but maybe lollypop might sort this out or Chuwi. I used the method above to get ROOT successfully. I have a few additions to make
– Install adb / fastboot drivers for the tablet
– Try this version first . 1.3 – http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979 If it doesnt work . ( Like for me use 1.0) http://adbdriver.com/downloads/. Should work on windows 8.1 and windows 7
– Enable USB debugging and leave tablet on.
– Download SuperSU (http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu)
– Download IntelAndroid-FBRL (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722644693)
– Copy UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip to the tablet
– Uncompress IntelAndroid-FBRL on your computer
– Launch “launcher.bat” from IntelAndroid-FBRL folder ( Screen will be cyan if good )
– Type “ACCEPT”
– Check if device status and device information are OK, ( Screen should be cyan if ok and red if not. Refresh status by hitting enter. Remember if you get device status as unauthorised then go back to tablet and grant access. Screen will go cyan after if approval is given ) then type “T3″ the script will run . I got a fail at one point but it still booted in CWM.
– The tablet should reboot in fastboot mode, and after another auto-reboot, CWM recovery should show up
– Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip
– Wipe Cache . ( Can take a while be patient. )
– Reboot !June 26, 2015 at 9:54 am #6202ohh and thanks to Geko .
