Little update: still running, charge-discharged it for 3 times now without crashes while I’ve gone as low as 27% battery before charging.
On battery keep this baby constrained so there are no energy spikes then it works fine. It’s probably due to a cheap/bad battery which can not deliver peak currents very well.
October 29, 2015 at 6:21 pm #14458just found out that there is a new BIOS to flash! And the Admin of techtablets Chris downloaded it for us from Baidu!
1.13 build date 28th of October.
The download is the X98 Pro downloads section under bios: http://techtablets.com/teclast-x98-pro/downloads/
Maybe it helps some of you. I did not try yet because my tablet is fairly stable right now
October 31, 2015 at 1:22 pm #14579After a long time finally…….my tablet crashed again today in Windows at 50% battery….
Did not flash the bios yet because I saw in another post this did not help people withj the same problems. But now I tried something another user mentioned. I’ve now modified the BIOS setting : Switch off IGD turbo mode in BIOS . This option is in the 1.05 and new 1.13 BIOS versions. Lets plug and pray, see what this does for me
November 3, 2015 at 10:42 am #14830Hi Chris et al
I harassed Teclast on their facebook to force an acknowledge on the “blackout” problems we experience.
I can now tell you I got a response from Teclast! https://www.facebook.com/teclast1999
They Ackknowledge the problem and direct us to the website you are NOW on as a solution.
The solution is: http://techtablets.com/2015/10/teclast-x98-pro-boot-to-bios-missing-emmc-fix-bios-update/
Now I will try this myself as soon as I have time. If I do NOT I have no point anymore to keep reminding them of the problem. I am still sceptic because I’ve seen another user for whom the BIOS flash solved nothing.
November 3, 2015 at 9:30 pm #14882With new BIOS I went from not going beyond BIOS screen to booting both operating systems but I have the going black screen issue even after trying the passive thing etc. I am very dissapointed with this tablet.
Besides this, I had delivery delays, the charger died with a big noise and even made my computer turn off, bad support with Gearbest…..
On paper looked fantastic in real life is a piece of crap. Definitely a NO BUY recommendation. Maybe Chris should update reviews with all the issues.
November 4, 2015 at 8:47 am #14897I’m not positive about it either, its just what you say: on paper fantastic. And Teclast must know by now the new 1.13 BIOS does NOT solve the blackouts. Its just stalling what they do. Ercalamar try going into the BIOS and change the IGB Turbo mode to DISABLE this seems to work for the users with blackout issue

Not for me… 🙁 The problem is still there…
November 16, 2015 at 12:09 pm #15911Probably just a luck thing. The only problems I get are to do with using old software and usually running in compatibility mode sorts that out.
November 17, 2015 at 8:18 am #15962I’m sorry to hear you still have the problem. My problem is totally gone after IGD turbo is off.
I am spamming teclast every few days about the problem, they can NOT get away with this bad quality. Here you can compain https://www.facebook.com/teclast1999
What I also can say that this week I got a mayor Windows10 update, the whole tablet was re-installed (careful, it takes about 10-12hours to download it all its 10Gb). Maybe, just maybe this helps for you guys. Plugin the power adapter!!
Last but not least run windows cleanup afterwards because the old Windows installation (10 Gigabyte) stays on your precious memory which leaves you with approx 9Gb free space left.
November 19, 2015 at 11:18 am #16100Hi guys
Little update here. Since I got this major Win10 update my battery life has improved. Standby and use times are better. Not wonderful but better.
Maybe this is because the tablet was on the charger for 14 hours during the Win10 update (I did this over-night, it took for ages)
