Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30May 6, 2016 at 7:05 pm #36289I’ve just set my ram speed to 1600mhz and everything seems fine! benchmarks have increased about 5% in Geekbench 3 and 10% in 3Dmark. More or less as I expected.

I looked and have 1066, how can change to 1600?

This is risky and I don’t recommend messing in the bios. But under the CPU settings, go to northbridge and memory config. Change frequency A from 1066 to 1600. Save and reboot, cross your fingers it works. I’m not responsible for any bricked units for this.
You’ll see a 5 to 10% boost in performance at the cost of battery life maybe, haven’t confirmed that yet. Maybe 5%to 10% battery life drop. Looks like the Windows only version might have the best battery life due to it running DDR3L ram which saves a little power.

“DIMM 1” option doesn’t shows up in BIOS/Northbridge/Memory config, didn’t find it elsewhere
May 6, 2016 at 11:34 pm #36318“DIMM 1” option doesn’t shows up in BIOS/Northbridge/Memory config, didn’t find it elsewhere
Chipset/Northbridge/Memory Config/Frequency A selection (DIMM 1) change from [1067] to [1600]
This may cause issues, change at your own risk. Not sure why Chuwi set it to 1067 when my first batch Windows model runs at 1600 Mhz. Whatever you do don’t mess with any other settings. It has no failsafe settings or rest and many options if changed could cause it to not boot requiring a reflash via USB programmer.

May 7, 2016 at 3:07 am #36329Chris G, I enter my Windows 10 only BIOS, and I can see a Southbridge but NO option to see the memory speed.

F2/del key
May 8, 2016 at 12:37 am #36393My hi12 dual os also came with 1066 Mhz, already set it to 1600 Mhz. No other side affects after that. Thanks.
May 8, 2016 at 9:08 pm #36483I’ve been running two days now at 1600 Mhz and no issues. Not sure why it was set to 1066 from the factory if my first model was 1600 Mhz.
