Hello guys, I bought a Jumper Ezbook 3 Pro from Geekbuying (German warehouse) about 4 weeks ago after reading all the positive reviews for the notebook. I also bought a 128GB Transcend m.2 SSD and made a clean Windows install on the drive. Everything was working great and the battery lasted, if I recall correctly, about 6 hours on normal usage which was perfectly fine.
Well, recently I noticed there is something seriously wrong with the battery. Sometimes it would only get to 82%, sometimes it would barely load at all and since yesterday my notebook would load to 100% in like an hour, the LED light turns from red to green, but then it would go down to like 50% in 30 minutes of normal usage and then it would shut instantely off without any warning and it’s down to 5% again. Absolutely annoying. So the times and percentage on the Windows display are wrong. Also, I can hear some sounds near the battery depending on the display brightness or wether I have the AC adapter plugged in or not. This was not the case at first.
Normally I would just return it and get a new one. But that doesn’t seem so easy with these Chinese stores. Like I said, I bought it off Geekbuying via Paypal and already sent them a E-Mail and tried to contact them via their Live Chat. I got no response, obviously, and I’m so annoyed right now and probably won’t ever buy from them again.
I also checked this forum and I seem to be not the only one with this exact problem, like here: https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/short-battery-life-on-ezbook-3-pro/page/2/
So any help would be highly appreciated!
Already installed BatteryBar and tried to completely drain the battery to 0% and load it up to 100%. No luck so far.
Thank you very much

You see that Jumper now mostly produces crap, so act accordingly and I have written tons of information about the Jumper batteries, just read it.

1981 soldered my first Sinclair computer 1K, tapedeck * 1984 build and sold IBM clones 8Mhz, 512K, 20MB HDD * 2018 messing with ultrabooksJune 10, 2018 at 8:50 am #143754I confirm exactly the same problem at my EZBook 3 Pro v7.
Working about 1 hour till 50% and then shutdown. And the same high pitch sound when the charger is plugged or the screen brightness changed to low.
Currently I did the following but NOTHING still had helped:
- unlocked BIOS and tried changing different stuff related to battery
- fully discharged and charged the battery under both Windows or BIOS
- opened the hood (NOTE: warranty mark destroyed) and unplugged/plugged the battery
- installed Linux to SSD (M.2 128 Gb) and tried various tools there (upower shows reasonable data: capacity is 3800mA * 7.6V, consumption is 8-12W, so about 3-4 hours to run from 100% to 0% which is expected)
So if anyone solve this problem, please share the solution. BTW, if this is due to a battery issue then where I can buy the spare battery and how to replace it?

Insist to Geekbuying that you want to send it back to Germany. They will relent in the end and send you the address like they did for me. Send it back and get your money back. Like Chupa has said these cheap laptops are just not worth the hassle. I’m glad I sent mine back to Germany and got a refund before using it. I did charge it up for 30 minutes just to test the screen and the charger and battery were so hot that I am in no doubt if I had kept it the battery would have expanded. I think the chargers are faulty. Even though I sent it back to the German address provided (tracked and signed for) I had to resort to Paypal to get some sort of response from Geekbuying as they would not refund me. I won’t be using Geekbuying again I can tell you.
June 21, 2018 at 8:17 am #144044I’m currently trying to get my Ezbook pro 3 replaced with Gearbest but they are being total assholes. Takes 24 hours per response and they have offered a replacement which I have to partially pay the shipping for (despite their warranty stating that shipping is reimbursed, when push comes to shove they only reimburse partially).
They also offered that I pay $200 and they’ll send me a replacement (LOL WTF?) or I can keep this one and simply take a small refund (no, I want a non-faulty unit you dumbfucks!).
Absolute pain in the ass and totally unprofessional.
June 21, 2018 at 3:40 pm #144058I know it’s a nightmare mate. It’s a lesson learned for me. Mental note to myself – only use these guys for £10 bluetooth headphones and stuff like that. Everything else I’m sticking to my own country from now on.
