GearBest cancels X98 Plus Dual Boot order.

I am also looking for a case and from what I  read, the plus has the same dimensions as the ipad air.  I am thinking of ordering something like this or this. This one also looks very good. Anyone tried something similar?

Keep in mind the speakers ale located on the back of the tablet on the X98, on the iPad it’s on the bottom frame.

The Ipad Air case will NOT fit the Plus. It will fit the Pro except for the button placements. The Plus has squared off edges. X98 Air III cases WILL fit the Plus as well as some of the other Teclast X98 cases that don’t have a plastic, snap on back.

why not take one specifically for the Plus?

option 1 – 12$
option 2 – 12$
option 3 – Original case with keyboard – 22$
option 4 – simple and cheap – 7$

I got for myself option 3 and 4.

I had originally ordered a Chuwi Hi8 Pro from Gearbeat, which after having the preorder extended time and time again they just without telling me anything refunded my order to my stupid “wallet” instead of my method of payment.  I had already paid for that order mostly using credits from another prior screw up with a defective item… so now I had even more credit than ever with them (what a scam…).  On the plus side they didn’t reverse the gearbest points on the canceled order so I ended up with another bunch of free credit.

Eventually I settled on spending a bit more for an x98 Plus… and I had the choice between an apparently in stock x98 plus (windows) for $185 or the dual boot pre-order one for $200… I took the one “in stock” after having dealt with them on the last preorder which was a nightmare plus it was cheaper, and honestly I’d rather just have the disk space than android anyway.  It looked like I got the last one because it became unavailable after I ordered it… and surprisingly it got shipped.  It took them quite a while to ship it, and then forever to get to me but when it was delivered there was nothing owing on the delivery (they had marked the value of my package as $16, that’s ballsy).

I was dreading getting a banged up used one or worse but it seems fine, already had the latest BIOS installed and I’ve already reset widows, backed up the drivers, completed all of the updates and am just now doing a disk image and should be ready to actually use the stupid thing soon.

Needless to say, in the end I had an OK experience with the teclast order but that was my last order from gearpest and I’m glad my wallet there is finally empty and I actually have something in my hands to show for all of my trouble.

Exactly why I’m afraid to cancel the order. I don’t want to be stuck in the middle.. no refund , dealing with the service and can’t order anywhere else because my money is there.  So.. I’m just waiting for delivery.  I also ordered a Redmi Note 2 Prime from GearBest and it was just fine. I you can only tell if they are trustworthy or not when you have a problem. And again , that’s the reason I prefer AliExpress, but they didn’t have the item (which retroactively, doesn’t matter because GB didn’t ship it either).

Regarding cases, i got this one from BangGood, which is suitable for the AirIII and Plus. Cost $6.81 delivered. Nice and light with the Teclast logo embossed on the the front corner. All i need now is a tablet to put in it.

The MCDODO looks very good, I ordered one. I couldn’t find it the last time I checked. Thanks!

The keyboard case looks bulky though and from what I see the keyboard is not attached in any to the case. I have a logitech k480 anyway so I don’t need anything extra.

I actually ordered mine yesterday from Gearbest, right after the preorder finished. The price was cheaper than preorder. So far they haven’t canceled my order yet.
