I have the same problem and was about to start a new thread about it. The weird thing is it only happens in Windows (I’m running 10).

Just to check we have the same issue, in my case,

    • Sometimes when charging if I press the screen I get double or triple random presses on screen.
    • My touch device is the MYI2C device
    • When charging or after using for a while I get those totally random inputs you describe. They can be key presses and actual drags across the screen.
    • It doesn’t happen in Android?

I have the touch device disabled in windows currently as it’s annoying me so much! I was wondering myself if it was a heat issue/combined maybe with a driver? I’m tempted to go back to windows 8 to see if I have the problem there but that’s alot of work!

I read that it might be related to grounding issues, but I dont feel much like opening up my new Vi10 Pro.

Hi Phuturist, where did you see that?

    Thanks!

    • Cant really tell if it happens when charging as I charge overnight
    • I have the same touchscreen (MYI2C)
    • It happens for me on Android as well (which leads me to believe it’s not a software issue)
    • It’s random presses and swipes
    • I also own an Onda v102w has the same issue (I actually bought the Chuwi because I was getting fed up with this issue)

The grounding issue came up when Googling for touchscreen ghost touches:

Very interesting and makes some sense…. although doesn’t explain why I can’t see it in Android, could it then be a heat thing?

The question is do I try taking it apart to investigate?

Ok so I’ve taken the back cover off just to see how it goes and I’ll report back later, I have spotify playing – I’m using it and I have the charger plugged in.

Nice one, interested to hear the results of your experiment (as I was too scared to do it myself).

I’m totally confused, in Win10 it looks like a hardware fault, plug the charger in and by tipping the screen cable in a certain place, there’s the fault! I’ve tried a few different things and still no joy!

With the power cable in I get phantom touches. However if I switch to Android it’s OK,  I’m typing this on screen in android now with the charger in and no issue?

Thanks for the video and pics! Very handy to have. Never opened mine for risk of breaking the glass rear.

    Hi Everyone.

I have same problem as well plus my screen is unresponsive many times. I have this problem both in windows and android. Also one speaker is louder than another but this is minor problem. Im in contact with gearbest where i bought tablet and im willing to return it. Im thinkink about taking hi10pro model instead but im affraid that quality issues will occur again.

    Here are the videos of:

sorry for my English. I translate through an interpreter.
a problem for all who audit tablet VI10PQ64g221509 ****.
at the moment there is no solution. the Russian-speaking forum http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=660077&st=6120 is a discussion of the problem, and are looking for methods of solution.
but the isolation loops of film adaptation, the device further cooling of the processor did not bring the desired results,
at the moment it is considered that the problem is not the correct harness chip touchscreen. so as soon as it warms up, and it should not be heated in theory, begin touchscreen glitches.

I was having the same problem with my tablet, phantom touches and the screen becoming unresponsive in both Windows and Android. I contacted Banggood who I bought it from and they decided it was a defective tablet, so I have returned it and they are sending me a new one.

Hi KOCTYCb O o, I noticed when I tipped the area in red in my screen shot the screen ghosted like crazy!  Worse with the charger in!  I tried insulation tape in places there but no joy – I suspect a faulty unit as Steve above said! Real shame as it was a great tab otherwise! I’ve contacted my seller but (a) I’ve had it open and (b) Haven’t had much luck returning things before. If anyone finds a fix I’m all ears! Thanks!
