Well, you bought a $140+ tablet and the most important part of it doesn’t work correctly. $18 doesn’t even come close to covering the cost of a new digitizer either, so IMO you should keep complaining. You could do what I did and open a PayPal claim against them too. If you can then prove that the tablet is sometimes unusable they’ll eventually increase the price and send you the money via PayPal (you’ll need to demand that it goes to your PayPal account).
GearBest will keep suggesting to “return” the tablet to China, even though you might not of bought it from China. Keep saying no to that because it costs too much to do that and most of the negative GearBest reviews will tell you that GearBest will claim that they didn’t receive it back.
Once you’ve finally got a partial refund you should avoid GearBest. Yes, they might sometimes have good sale prices, but their returns/replacement policy sucks.
March 18, 2016 at 9:42 pm #29966I had the same problem with my chuwi vi10 and I sent it back to Gearbest. Make sure you do EVERYTHING in the PayPal dispute system, if necessary escalate it to a claim, they are going to give a paypal refund. Just pretend that you are very angry and mad at Gearbest and they are going to do anything for you. From that money I could get a much better cube iWork 10 ultimate still from Gearbest but I do try to avoid them.
March 18, 2016 at 10:35 pm #29987I will open a dispute in Paypal. How much should I ask for? 100% of the original price? How much did you get?

I wanted more, but I got $40 out of them. They’ll keep rejecting pretty much everything else.
March 19, 2016 at 6:07 am #29997I asked for the full price of the product, excluding shipping and additional costs.

Hi,
you should escalate the dispute to a claim, there’s an option saying “I could not come to an agreement with the seller”
I forgot to say that I contacted them in the 45 days money back guarantee, that may effect what you get. If you are over the 45 days I would send it back for a repair and hope they’ll fix it.
March 19, 2016 at 7:17 am #29999I am over the 45days. I dont believe they will send me a tablet without this problem. Its a design error.

If you re-read what I wrote you’ll see that that’s how I got $40 back from them.
I could of got $140 back from them by sending the tablet to China. Nobody should do that though as it’s not cheap to send the tablet as a tracked parcel to China. Here it costs around $80, so I would of lost more than half of what the tablet costs.
GearBest are known to spam review websites with fake reviews too.

@john
It’s not really a design issue, but a quality control issue. The tablets are assembled in the cheapest way possible, which is why some have major defects and some don’t have any.I’d still try to get more money out of them and then attempt to fix it yourself as Miika has.
March 21, 2016 at 10:35 am #30232I got this answer:
After reviewing your case, please review our possible solutions:
1)Return the item back to us
You can return the item back to us in China as per our terms and conditions indicated in the link above.
Once we receive the item , we can exchange or offer a product refund( 96.07 USD) back to your GB wallet. As long as the item does not exceed the 45 day money back guarantee limit.2)Keep the item and accept a partial refund 19 USD on Wallet (credit)
We can offer a partial refund of your product value which is USD on your wallet. This amount can be used for your future orders.3)Resend a replacement (No return)
We can resend you a replacement but we kindly ask you cover partial cost of item and the shipping fee which is 58 USD. We will then arrange a shipment and send you an invoice if you choose this option. In any case I prefer the partial refund on PayPal.
March 21, 2016 at 6:45 pm #30281I said this a few days ago:
GearBest will normally give you some options e.g. send the tablet to China (it isn’t cheap to send a tracked parcel to China) and get sent a replacement or you keep the tablet and accept a partial refund. Their third option is that you pay $100+ and they’ll send you another tablet. It’s basically the same as option #2, but instead of the partial refund going to your GearBest wallet it’ll be applied directly to a new order.
See what I mean now? Their return options suck.
I nagged them about the issue and how what they’re offering isn’t enough. I mean, the issue can be so bad that at times you can’t even use the tablet. It’s a major issue, so I told them that I’d open a PayPal claim against them, which I didn’t get a reply back to. On PayPal I stated that I wanted a partial refund of at least $60, but they wouldn’t agree to that. I did get them to accept $40 though which is a whole lot better than $18. You do have the cheaper 32GB version though as I’d paid $140 for the 64GB version, so I guess that’s the main difference here.
April 2, 2016 at 6:18 am #31662Finally, PayPal said I am not right. So I didn’t get the last proposal of20$.
I get nothing.

April 5, 2016 at 8:05 am #32066My chuwi touch definitively death! Now i can use it for about 5 minutes and than become crazy! I opened the tablet, check the cable and it appears good. Chuwi suport doesn’t reply to my e-mail, gearbest refunds me only 15$, so the only one solution is purchase a bluetooth keyboard with trackpad, unistall the touch driver and use the tablet as netbook. Very terrible experience with chuwi, i think i prefer buy a classic asus zenpad 10, spend about the same and have a very powerful support to asus.
April 5, 2016 at 10:19 am #32091I have the same problem I have disabled the touch and use the tablet with a mouse connected via USB.
It is unfortunate that chuwi not give a solution to the issue of touchMay 12, 2016 at 8:06 pm #37026Hi! I was very depressed because my chuwi was unusable. So i decided for a big risk: open my Chuwi as Miika did. I clean the touch connector from the (very copious) glue with a screwdriver and tweezers: Be Careful!!! Than i use a contact cleaner spray, cover the connector with tape (for create a thickness) and close my Chuwi. Now are 2 weeks i use it without problems (more or less). Whatever i can use the tablet rather usefully.
May 12, 2016 at 8:51 pm #37029I’m in the same case I will do that but I’ve already opened the tablet but really have not removed the glue only clean the connector but it kept failing.
