I have no such problems with my rev. 4.  It did freeze on loading Windows when I changed eMMC Max Speed from “DDR50” to “HS400″ in bios. But changed it back and now works without a problem.

sounds like the tweak with the eMMc speed dont work anymore with the new BIOS?

Tweak (eMMc speed – HS400) + New BIOS = unstable system?

please more informations about this from other users

maybe you can confirm a stable system with DDR50 in eMMc setting

Haven’t done any emmc tweak modification on her laptop, this is straight out of the box

In her case, it just froze/glitch randomly during use, I’ll have a look at the bios settings if there’s any changes.

Reset the bios settings to default and if the freezing continues it could be a bad SoC, it’s unlikely but could be possible. So get in touch with Gearbest or the seller for a replacement.

Possible that the cpu might be overheating especially if jumper increased the power limit out of the box, wouldn’t hurt to see if they forget to add the thermal paste/pad between the copper plate and SoC

Not sure about the thermal pad, after opening the bottom lid. Everything seems to be intact

Does anyone know how I can boot from usb? I wanna try installing fresh windows 10 on the ssd

Ok, so the F7 key is the boot option, however this time installation windows is stuck at ‘Copying Windows Files’ for the last 30 minutes.

Could it be a problem with my installer?

Ok, so I might have to return it back to gearbest

    So far, I have:

    1. Reset the bios to default
    2. A full pc reset
    3. Install a fresh windows 10 on an m.2 ssd

And I’m still getting the weird graphic glitch or system freeze

Thanks for the video, I can now see that’s a hardware screen issue. Maybe damaged from transit or just a faulty IPS screen. Get in touch with your seller for a replacement or refund. Clearly faulty!

Hi Chris, how’s your experience with RMA from gearbest?

Right now, I’m more concerned about getting reimbursement for return shipping fees.

Since their 3 day DOA only valid for 3 days, as much as I want to ship the laptop immediately back to them. My country (Malaysia) has public holidays that extend all the way to next Monday, so local courier companies would resume operation starting next Tuesday.

I’ve already emailed gearbest support regarding this and still waiting for their reply.

from my experience gearbest will always makes good on their rma returns but i’ve only sent back cheaper and smaller items, your problem will likely be finding a cheap enough shipping service that will accept notebook because of the liion batteries.

You might have to use one of the more expensive service like dhl/fedex which cost almost $100 and gearbest may only be willing to pay half the cost(just speculations on my part). anyway it wouldnt hurt to try plugging it to a tv or monitor to see if the problem persist.

It’s not just the display, the whole system froze or become unresponsive when that glitch happens

The laptop’s not even usable since it happens just after a few minutes after login

I was gonna try to clone the drive using bootable cd like clonezilla but it’s not booting up at all from the usb (only blank screen)
