This statement is not accurate.  There is an incompatability between most BIOS in many devices and the Grub2 boot loader/manager that is used with most Linux distro’s.
Lots of other OS’s in addition to various Linux distro’s can work if they don’t use Grub.
The solution is most likely installing it using the rEFInd boot manager as this guy did:

brad, he wants to install an android OS
the dual boot android / win 10 was for the atom processors like ezbook 2
but i have not heard from any apollo lake who does that.
