Hi,
1. This will help: http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/dual-boot-owners-is-your-ram-running-at-1066-mhz-and-not-1600mhz/#post-36318
2. My Samsung 128GB PRo+ works in both OS’s, formatted to fat32 in Android first
3. Fix the dual OS boot selector? Was it broken? Or you mean that it pops up each time or doesn’t? You can control that with the Windows swtich app.

Next up for review:
Ordered and waiting for my: BMAX S15 & Teclast F6 Plus
Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30June 7, 2016 at 3:02 pm #401881. So, based on that thread, I will need a keyboard and when booting up windows, press F12 to get into the bios (which I assume is chipset)?
2. I erased and formatted the card in android first, but it did not specify fat32. I thought that was its default, but maybe not. I will format it in windows as fat32 specifically and see what happens.
3. Sorry, for the vagueness here. When the OS selectors appear, I can’t pick one, so it just boots into windows automatically after about 30 seconds. Pressing the OS icon, then ok does nothing. Maybe im supposed to drag it to ok?
Thanks for the reply!
June 7, 2016 at 4:45 pm #40195When it boots up, you don’t use the touchscreen to select OS. You use the volume up or down key to select. Caught me out too!
June 7, 2016 at 6:59 pm #40206Ah, so its a “feature” lol!
Chris,
Is what I said above correct? Go to cpu settings via pressing F12 at boot, then Northbridge?
June 8, 2016 at 3:25 pm #40272Couple of new questions if anyone can help:
1. When I switch to tablet mode in windows, I can’t find the switch to android button. I’ve searched and can’t find it. Anyone know how to find it in tablet mode?
2. Antivirus recommendations for either os? I usually go with maleware bytes and avast, but avast has been clogging up my android phone lately.
June 8, 2016 at 4:22 pm #40287There should be an app there that you need to double click on in Windows.
June 8, 2016 at 4:30 pm #40289Sorry just re-read your question and my answer doesn’t help. Maybe try adding the “switch to android” app to the start menu?
June 8, 2016 at 6:25 pm #40294Yeah, i searched for the app and it didn’t come up. Of course I’m not real familiar with windows 10 yet, so it might be user error. If I find it, I’ll post how to get to it.
Also just wanted to say how awesome this tablet is for reading comics!
June 9, 2016 at 3:10 pm #403561. When I switch to tablet mode in windows, I can’t find the switch to android button. I’ve searched and can’t find it. Anyone know how to find it in tablet mode?
I think the 2 most simple solutions are:
- untoggle “tablet mode” in Action center each time you want to switch and double tap the switch icon on the desktop. After next time booting in Windows, toggle again Tablet mode… Adds a swipe from the right and one press each time you switch to or from Android.
- add the SwitchNOW shortcut to the Start menu (like Andrew suggests): in desktop mode rightclick (long press) on the icon, choose “pin to start” and you’ll find the SwitchNOW in your start menu.
2. Antivirus recommendations for either os? I usually go with maleware bytes and avast, but avast has been clogging up my android phone lately.
I use Bitdefender Total Security for Windows and Android. The ” multi-device” license can be used by up to 5 users in one household on a ” limitless” (haven’t tested that, but use it on about 10 devices in my family) amount of devices. It’s not too heavy and is continuously reviewed as one of the best through the years.
June 9, 2016 at 6:29 pm #40364Thanks Marc! Im going to pin switchnow to the start menu tonight. I have heard of bitdefender, I’ll give it a try.
I fixed the sd card problem. I delted the SD storage class controller driver and replaced it with the one posted here: http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/reading-sdxc-card/#post-23380 (thanks Samuel!).
So, can anybody confirm pressing F12 at boot to get to chipset > northbridge?
June 10, 2016 at 3:35 pm #40452I just wanted to add this here (I just posted this in the official Chuwi forum where someone else was having the same problem).
Android:
1. Boot Android
2. Insert SD card
3. Pull down notifications from top of screen and click on the notification about the SD card. You may have to take out the card and reinsert it several times (giggity).
4. It will prompt you to format the card (do it)
5. Card should show up under storage now (a 128gb will show 119gb available).Windows:
1. Go here: http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/reading-sdxc-card/#post-23380 and download the driver.
2. Boot Windows
3. Go to device manager
4. Expand storage controllers and double click on SD storage class controller
5. Select driver tab and chose update driver.
6. Select browse my computer for driver and go to the driver downloaded in step 1.The card should show up in Windows now.
