Installed fresh Windows Home and removed Android from Dual Boot version

I’ve got both an iPad Mini and an Android tablet, so I decided I wanted a fresh installation of Windows, and also in my own language.

Downloaded the Windows iso and made a boot USB stick using Rufus. Then I just booted while pressing F7 multiple times until the prompt for choosing start up medium came up, chose the stick and went ahead with the installation rutine. I deleted all partitions on the disk and merged them to one, and then let the installation procedure work its magic. All went well, also the activation is all right in Windows – no issues there.

Fresh windows installations always seem snappy, but the main effect this had on my Chuwi is that the shut off while in sleep mode stopped doing its thing. now its been sitting in sleep mode for three days and I’ve been using it from time to time, a little gaming, browsing and some installations of programs I use. Really happy now with my Hi12, it’s a great device for the money I’d say.

The drivers was installed on first boot from the file here on the forum under Downloads, and everything works fine. Touch screen, pen, wifi and Bluetooth. Did all this just using the metal version of the Chuwi keyboard, no problems doing that.

Just wanted to share my experience so far. not disappointed at all with the Chuwi hi12. But of course, it’s maybe not so good for the average person who is not used to flashing firmware and reinstalling OS. I’m using mine without any screen protector, I use it in the living room on a table with the keyboard as a regular PC, it’s a bit on the heavy side for lounging on the sofa but on occation I’ve also done a little Netflix on it.

Where did you download the Windows iso file if I may ask? And how would Windows 10 register Windows key with this tablet? Or did you use your own windows key (external) ?

Sorry for not responding to your question. I’m not frequent in here as my Chuwi performs very well – still no issues. Some small wifi-drops now and then, but that’s mostly related to number of users on my home net it seems.

Dowloaded the iso from Windows offical site, just search for it and you’ll find it – make sure it’s the correct version. I have bought a few Windows licenses, so I probably did use one of them if I remember correctly.

My keyboard is a bit annoying as it isn’t straight, one corner hangs down a little just as in Techtablets video. It’s the metal newest version so the touch pad is good and typing is also all right except the space bar sometimes miss the press and doesn’t register. Looks like this happens when I’m close to one end of the bar.

But value for money as a cheap hybrid is great – IF one expects performance and quality according to price. It is not a Surface Pro 3. Battery life and screen colors/brightness is the best features for me. I typically use it for browsing and email, but have also been using the stylus some. Tried a few games which is not impressive, but Euro Truck Simulator runs fine (Steam installation). In fact, the main thing I’ve been using it for lately is streaming games from my Xbox One S which works excellent. Connecting the xbox-controller through bluetooth. Really smooth.
