Has anyone else started getting spam emails after dealing with Gearbest? I very rarely use my “real” email, only for merchants where I expect to do Visa card business. I was very interested in a phone so created a real account with Gearbest. Suddenly started getting constant email spam with titles of the form “#605# so long” (it always has the #nnn# code).
Now, it could possibly be some other vendor that waited a long time to sell my address, or who knows… But I’m suspicious of Gearbest because of the timing. I had *no* spam for years before signing up with them.
Yes, I know all that and have multiple privacy and security features in operation. I don’t need advice on surfing safely.
Think about what I said: My real address is rarely used and has not been spammed for years, until very soon after I gave it to Gearbest.
Maybe coincidence. The only way to find out is to put the news here, and ask if others have the same experience. If not, then it probably wasn’t Gearbest.
No, the only Spam I get from Gearbest is the daily emails on new deals.
