    @christian-karlsson

    I purchased 2 of the iwork 10 flagship ultrabook type-c version from gearbest which came in the mail yesterday. 1 works fine and the other is DOA and has never turned on. Initially started charging but still wouldnt turn on and now it only wants to charge sometimes when plugged in. Quite bummed but I guess this is the risk when buying chinese tablets
    I am in the same boat as you where I was given the 3 options from gearbest so I am going to return it but am still waiting on further instructions.
    Have you had any luck with it yet?

    So I just received my iwork 10 yesterday (from gearbest) and it did not come with a charger.  So far I’ve tried with an Anker 5V/2A charger and an old Palm 5V/1A charger and neither worked.  I’m also using a fairly nice USB cable as well.  Any suggestions?

    Also, can this be charged using the Type C connector?  I don’t have any experience with USB 3/Type C.

    So the lesson as always is RTFM.  Turns out the only way to charge this version is the Type-C connector so now it’s charging.

    If its the type-c version of the tablet like I have, then it will only charge using the usb type-c cable supplied in the box. I would try stick with the Anker 5V/2A charger. I’ve been successfully charging the working tablet with a iPad 5.1V/2.1A charger via the usb type-c port

    haha didn’t see your reply whilst I was replying – good to know its now charging

    @Justin

    I sent the tablet back on the 16th, they unfourtnally didnt want me to use express services like UPS, so had to send it normal airmail, so will take around 2 weeks with the customs clearence as well.

    They asked me to get back to them in 20 days and they will have an answer, either they will reship a new tablet if they have it in stock, or they will repay me what I payed for the tablet and a smaller amount for the keyboard and tampered glass. (If they make a repayment I have a keyboard and a unused tampered glass for sale btw (freight on me)

    I’m a bit unsure what I want really, the Iwork10 are a nice tablet, but didnt really use win10 as much as I thought because of the smaller screen. I would really like a Z8500/Z8700, 12″, Wireless ac, full USB port tablet, but I guess that wont happen :/

    Thanks for the info. I’m struggling to find a decent shipping rate atm (from New Zealand). The cheapest I can find is around $100 because I kept getting stung for the lithium ion battery so they won’t ship standard, only express which is kinda against what GearBest wanted haha. I’m now considering option 3.. :S

    That’s weird, normally you can send 2 laptops in every parcel without having to declare the li ion battery inside.

    I got it down to 30 usd from Sweden using standard shipping.

    After so many recharge cycles battery in your tablet has gained additional capacity? WTF?? What technology is in use there? 😉

    Just kidding. Read my previous post in this thread. In short: data hardcoded inside BIOS ACPI like “production date” or “design capacity” are false.
    As to “discharge cycles” it is probably some random number. I’ve got something circa 35 thousends. AFAIK PMIC in this tablet (XPower AXP288C) doesn’t count charge cycles.
