    Buy a good/fast USB pen drive. A good option is a Sandisk UltraFit USB 3.0 or 3.1, or another model that is equally as small so you can leave plugged in permanently without risk of damaging it.   It will be perfectly fine for storing and retrieving data, even music and videos, but Windows 10 won’t use it.

    The  Linux OS is more flexible/configurable, but 64GB is plenty for Linux.

    agree with the sandisk model but not with the rest.
    windows can and will use the extra memory, it just has to be setup correctly

    second, if you have a slow emmc, chances are cloning the whole emmc to the usb and the make it the primary boot drive will make the pc faster since most fast usb3 outperform slower emmc.
