    Hello everybody,

I have a problem with my new EZBOOK 3: the battery only charges up to 82%.

Even if I let the laptop on charge all the night, the next morning the battery is at 82%.

I tried to install BatteryBar: it tells me that the capacity of my battery is 50.720 mhw.

    So much? Is it possible?

I red a thread concerning ezbook 2 (with the same problem), in which someone wrote to let the lapton fully discharge and then use it with 0% for several hours. In this way the battery has been re-calibrated, but this solution didn’t work in my case.

Any suggestion to solve my problem?

Gear best offered me a refund of 30 dollars plus some points, but this is not a solution 😀

Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi,

i think i know why the battery does not charge up to 100 percent.

I found a Registry Value wich is a Dword entry with the Max. Hex Value: ffff ffff which is ‭4294967295‬

maybe thats the Max charge level for the Battery.

now i changed this entry in a Qword entry with the dec. Value 5000000000 (Hex ‭12A05F200‬

I dont know if it works now, i will Test it with charging over night.

You can find this Value in the Registry if you search for “Charge”

I hope it will work and please excuse my bad english, i hop you understand what i have written 😉

I’m using ArchLinux so I think that the issue isn’t SO-related…

After some complete charges, it seems equal.

Hi, my laptop charge up to 100% so 82% isn’t the limit 🙁 I was loading for 5hours, more or less.

Do you check your charger? It’s really poor quality and the european adapter is worst.

Try to open the laptop and unplug the battery from the mainboard for a minute. This will reset the Power Management IC and might fix your problem.

    Hey Christopher,

I unplugged the Battery twice, but it does not fix the problem.

I will try to get another Charger, perhaps there is the problem.

I doubt it will fix it since the charger is just a very simple power supply. You should measure your voltage. If it is less than 12V the charger might be the issue. If it is 12V replacing the charger won’t help.

Another thing you could try to calibrate the battery is to let it run to 0%. And I don’t mean on Windows, since it shuts off before the battery is completely empty. Start the UEFI menu and let it run empty in there. You could also try restoring the UEFI factory defaults just to make sure some setting in there isn’t screwed up.

If all of this doesn’t fix the problem, there likely is no way to do so. But really, the battery life of the EZBook 3 is awesome so the few percent missing won’t have a big impact on battery life. If the battery really is charged to 82% and it’s not just a screwed up display, it might also extend battery longevity.

    Hi Chris,
I tried everything on this page but nothing fix the problem.
First I tried to empty the battery, I realized that the notebook once arrived at 0% could still hold even an hour.
This did not solve the problem, I still could not exceed 82% of charging.
Secondly I tried to reinitialize the factory settings in the BIOS several times but still nothing.
Finally I found that the level of charge always degrades,
At the beginning it was 82%, then 77% and now I can’t exceed 68% more.
The 68% of charge allows me to use the computer for 5-6h.
I think there is no way to fix that.

I have the same problem with the battery only charges up to 38% (since the beginning it was or 82% then 66%, 44%)
Even if I let the laptop on charge all the night, the next morning the
battery is at 38%. Anybody has the solution?
I contacted Jumper company but there is no answer.
