Well, maybe it was meant to be. Since being desperate to buy the Jumper EZbook 3 Pro, thanks to one of Chris’ videos, I discovered the Cube Thinker – awesome features and specs. Double the price of the Jumper, but what the heck, so I have just ordered and paid for the Cube Thinker. But I will watch the Jumper to see what they come up with next.

There stupid support is confusing the version 1 which has no SSD and wireless N. That model I can see as being discontinued. This new update “version 3” was just released now with wireless AC, I highly doubt it will be discounted. I’ll send a message to Jumper on Aliexpress and see what they say.

Thanks Chris, those Gearbest support staff really are nitwits – I have seen them contradict themselves so many times, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they have stuffed up again.

I don’t know if I can delete this thread, but if you find out that Gearbest gave fake news, perhaps it would be best to delete it, to avoid confusion for other guys reading this.

    Chris,
I sent you an eMail. From a strategic point of view it make send to stop.

    Why?

The Pro 3 situation with 3 versions in the market is s deadly mess for customers and dealers if nobody knows the modell number of the version he wants: communication chaos

Imagine: body and built of 3 Pro AC with a ssd backdoor

Type C support, 20% bigger battery and improved display with 128 GB / 6 GB for 250€ … and a boosted version which needs a stronger battery for a fanless i3 alternative with 8GB for 300€

    Do you need more?

Is that impossible considering the huge progress to 3 Pro AC?

With a clear communication strategy you’ll be the first who is happy in August with an EZB 4 Pro – and then you’ll agree that it made sense to abandon the ezb 3 Pro for the better one.

Meanwhile you can make a 100€ profit selling your 3 Pro AC

Yes, it might be hard to understand but they have a strategic roadmap they have to follow to stay ahead in competition. They had not planned to create 2 improved modells. For them it’s 1 product … 6-9 month … next modell/version simply to survive.

    Good luck - WOLF

Try to get a silver one of the canceled orders. Why?

This evening I got another mail asking me if I wanna wait about 14 days from now until shipping or if I want a refund.

There might be people who’ll cancel.

A chance for others like you.

    Mail arrived about 5.

    Good luck - WOLF

Okay, so according to the GearBest website this morning, there will be a new version of the Jumper EZbook 3 Pro, but it will now be called the Jumper EZbook 3 PLUS – It will come standard with 128 GB (no longer 64 GB), it will have 8 GB RAM (no longer 6GB) upgradeable to 16 GB RAM, and will sport a 14.1″ 1920×1080 FHD display !!!!!! ??????? and then of course it will carry forward the features from version 3….M.2 SSD bay, dual band wifi etc etc. If this is true, this is a MAJOR upgrade.

But, that is the latest from Gearbest, and they are not very reliable with information, so the jury is out. I agree with Wolf – they should label each version #1, #2,#3 or#4, so we know what we are buying. But at least, with this latest iteration, they are changing the name slightly to the Jumper EZbook 3 PLUS.

This new PLUS version is priced at a pre-release of $ 613.79. That price will obviously fall dramatically once it is released.

Update: my mid of june preorder for ezb 3 pro got the 3rd shipping delay which is now estimated for 7th of July

Price of 3 Plus is far too high compared to the 3 Pro which is nearly 3 times as much. For what?

2 GB RAM + 64GB bigger ssd + 14 instead  13 inch display and processor?

That’s a far too big leap from 193€ to 587€.

For 587€ a Xiaomi Air might be a more solid solution which I can resell far better in a year.

Maybe it’s just nothing else as a place holder until real product specs are available. Gearbest holds the attention and lowers demand for other resellers with such an upcoming product not announced by jumper until today.

Gearbest (and techtablets) seem to be the only sources for a EZB 3 Plus modell.

    Good luck - WOLF

Yes, the price for the Jumper EZbook 3 Plus is not what we will be paying when it finally hits the streets. GearBest always list the price of tech very high before it is released. Take a look at the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 smart phone – it will be released in November, but GearBest have listed the price at $ 1900.00 !!!! It will be less than half that amount when it’s released..

I estimate that the Jumper EZbook Plus will retail for around $ 395.00. It would be fair value at that price, because the bigger SSD inside would be worth at least $ 150.00

found this from aliexpress: Jumper EZBOOK 3S laptop 14 inch 6GB DDR3L RAM 256GB SSD Storage Intel Apollo Lake N3450 1080P FHD Screen Notebook computer

it’s not 8GB ram but does sport a 256GB ssd for $US $327.15. this sounds like a better deal if that 14″ isn’t an issue.

    @Chris
G BTW they got your video on the product page. ;D

Yeah, I checked that one out. It’s not bad the EZBook 3S, just lacks the metal build. The touchpad is better than the EZbook 3 Pro’s. So they are using my videos again 🙁 I had a go at Jumper for taking images of my videos and using them on their EZBook 3 Pro page, it’s not on. I never gave permission for it and them stealing my videos uploading them to a Chinese YouTube alternative. 🙁 Really sucks, I know a lot of retailers use my videos which I’m cool with, just not stealing them!

    @zs5j
I’m sure once it’s in stock it will be around $399 USD, which is a fair price for the spec, considering it’s a Core M3 and 8GB. Full metal build.

@Chris G I bought the Cube Thinker i35. Nice laptop, excellent display screen. But I have found that the alloy build they use is quite soft and very easy to scratch and mark. Even with 3 weeks of care when using it, I have picked up some scratches on the alloy. I compare it to my MacBook Pro 15 ” which is 2.5 years old, and has been on 6 overseas trips to the UK, one to the USA and one to New Zealand North and South Island and Australia from here in Africa. It is used daily, and still has no marks on the alloy body. I wonder if Jumper use the same alloy as the Cube Thinker – I think it might do. I am going to have to be ultra careful with my Thinker now, because just touching up against a wall or other hard surface leaves marks on it that can’t polish out. That is my only real negative with this laptop. Other things they could improve on is the touchpad – layer it with glass and have better two finger scrolling, backlighting the keyboard and add a Micro SD card slot…then the Thinker would be perfect.

@zs5j Jumper EZbook 3 pro looks to have used that same grade of alloy as the Cube Thinker i35. I’ve not had any issues with mine as I always put it into a 13″ zero shock soft protective pouch. And in that, it’s perfectly fine.

I think for the money paid, the Thinker i35 is the best yet and hard to beat.  I don’t think we will see anyone topping that model from the Chinese brands this year. Hopefully the Thinker 2 next year will have the new Core M3, but also backlit keyboard, MicroSD and improved touchpad.
