I don’t know if this helps with your Hi10, But @Destry made this BIOS change when he booted his Chuwi Hi12…
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=223722&p=1190017&hilit=bios#p1190017
“Tried this:
sudo apt-get -y install git git clone https://github.com/hadess/rtl8723bs.git cd rtl8723bs make sudo make install sudo rebootBooted into Bios South Bridge/ LPSS & SCC CONFIGURATION/ SCC SDIO Support = changed acpi to PCI then saved and exit. After reboot, wifi working! Connected and online!
If you do not change the setting in <span class=”posthilit”>Bios</span>, the Hi12 will freeze at boot after installing the driver. Just hold your power button down for 10 to 12 seconds and it will power off.inxi -Fxz still shows card not found even though the wifi is working…”
August 7, 2016 at 9:49 pm #46046I have already changed it to PCI. I think that there’s a correlation between Windows blocking itself and possibility to boot without changing boot settings. I charged my tablet again to unlock it. Then I started Windows and logged in succesfully and shut it down. After that I was able to boot Mint without changing anything 🙂 . Now I installed those network drivers from github and when I wanted to reboot it, I couldn’t. Also, my Windows was blocked again. I will check if Wifi is working when my Windows will unlock and I will be able to boot Mint.

Quick question, please?
Where do they hide the firmware.bin ?
I need it in order to flash Android.
Thanks!
EDIT: I was directed here:

Not sure how I missed this one when grabbing the rest.
BTW: Win10 for the Hi-12 still times-out every time I try to download it.
August 8, 2016 at 1:03 am #46065Okay everyone, I finally got it
TUTORIAL – How to I got it working for me (version 1.0)
- Make a linux liveUSB pendrive with PERSISTENT DATA
- Change in BIOS>Chipset>South bridge>LPSS & SCC CONFIGURATION>SCC SDIO Support = ACPI to PCI and eMMC SUPPORT = ACPI to PCI (if you don’t have this settings you have to change 1 option in BIOS and restart it to show you all hidden BIOS settings)
- ALWAYS START PENDRIVE MANUALLY USING BIOS MENU (Press DEL > scroll to last tab in BIOS > choose your device) – in my case that made all the difference with black screen bug
- `sudo apt-get -y install git
git clone https://github.com/hadess/rtl8723bs.git
cd rtl8723bs
make
sudo make install
sudo reboot` - ALWAYS START PENDRIVE MANUALLY USING BIOS MENU
Thanks everyone for helping me, I hope that some day we will get a linux distro fully working with touchscreen and onboard sound 🙂
PS: I will probably recreate this guide to be a lot more precise, but it’s 3 AM right now and I just wanted to write it for everyone
August 8, 2016 at 6:17 am #46072Start a thread on the LM forum and maybe we can figure out the audio driver.
August 9, 2016 at 6:39 pm #46271I’ve just created a thread @ Mint Linux forum about Hi10 🙂
Does anyone know what’s the difference with Boot Priority booting and Boot Override difference? Because intel graphics doesn’t work @Mint with pendrive booting automatically via boot priority. I am sure that there’s a difference because GRUB opens in high res in auto boot. I have quick boot and quiet boot set off and I have to always make a boot override through bios to boot successfully.August 10, 2016 at 1:33 am #46294EDIT: see this thread on debugging audio… https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=227346&p=1200397#p1200184
If anyone running Linux with audio working on their Hi10 or Hi12 could you please run the AlsaInfo tool and post the output, or a alsa-project.org or Pastebin.com link to it? That might help some people get theirs working – if there are any working???
August 10, 2016 at 9:39 am #46317It’s a thread created by me 😀 I hope that someone will help me there and If I get it fully working I’ll create a tutorial how to fix everything.

I’m using Linux Mint on my Chuwi Hi10 with fully working audio.
Just I’m using it with a USB audio card, read the first post on this tread for the Plug&Play model.
🙂 🙂 🙂
August 10, 2016 at 11:36 am #46328I know Lupo but I want to get internal sound card working if it’s possible 😀
August 10, 2016 at 1:27 pm #46336Is HDMI audio also not working as well as regular audio (speakers and headphone jack)?
What about a bluetooth connected headset or speaker?August 10, 2016 at 3:08 pm #46344I have no possibility to check it because I don’t have microHDMI cable but I guess it won’t because soundcard doesn’t work at all
August 10, 2016 at 3:18 pm #46346If you have Wifi working with the rtl8723bs, does audio work over bluetooth? Is BT integrated in that rtl8723bs device?
August 10, 2016 at 10:47 pm #46362I’ve tried to get it working but i couldn’t. More details on thread @Mint Linux forums
August 13, 2016 at 4:46 am #46617check what it’s working and what’s not in Linux mint … with chuwi hi10 Linux Mint have the default resolution of 1200×1920 and there is no any way to change it to 800×600 …
What do you mean no way to change the screen resolution?
