New X98 Pro

I recently received my new X98 Pro. Dual Boot works great. I can easily switch back and forth between Win 10 and what I believe is supposed to be Android 5.1

Win 10 seems to be all English as far as I can tell.  It looks pretty much the same as my laptop version. I went through several passes of Windows Update on the X98, and now it looks like my Win 10 is up to date.

So now I boot to Android. I have a Nexus 6 phone, with lots of Play Store apps. I use my Nexus 6 phone heavily in my business, but I wanted to have a larger Android device for various uses. Hence the X98 Pro.

So booting to the X98 Pro Android was a shock! No Gmail,  No Google Maps, No Hangouts (or SMS), NO PLAY STORE! Just a few generic apps like a clock, a music player (with no music), generic calendar,  generic email. etc.   I use Google Maps, Gmail, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, Hangouts, Google Drive, etc. extensively. I could access many of these apps via a browser (any browser) but there isn’t one of those on the X98 Android, as far as I can see.

How do I get the Google App store on the X98?  How do I get all the Android apps I use onto to the X98 Pro?  Will the Mirek199 V6 ROM install a better Android version with a Play Store to help with my problem? Will the Mirek ROM mess up my Windows partition? All I really need is the Play Store so I can install my apps. A browser in Android (Chrome would be nice) could solve my most critical issues, since all my most-used Google apps can run in a browser,.

Yes install mireks Rom. It contains most google apps and then you can install anything else you want from the play store. More importantly it is a much improved android experience.

(just a comment but it is weird you have all these things missing in the stock rom, mine came with google play, gmail and a browser along with a load of chinese bloatware)

You can also download Google play apk file then you can install everything else from google play store.

There is an app (Box?) on the 3rd panel  which has all the Google apps in it. I renamed it Google (I think, I’ve renamed several apps).  I dragged Play Store out of it onto the home Panel.

That is not normal, the stock Teclast rom includes Play Store. Your seller has messed with it? But it doesn’t matter too much, install Mirek190’s V6 it’s very fast, better battery life, rooted and with Play Store. 100% recommended.

Hi All

I wanted to know if flashing Mirek V6 ROM will allow me to also re-install WIN as I am curious if the process is the same as X98 Air III 3G? I just got a X98 Pro and want to clean it of all China junk so came here to ask since this seems like a good place to ask.

Is the process very different to the X98 Air? Can I use Mirek Rom, do my partition sizes and add this V6 then load WIN10 on the unused partitions?

Also do I need to update BIOS – what is the last BIOS for the X98 Pro?

Hi I got mine yesterday, so I am in the same position.

Actually I first downloaded Malwarebytes and scanned the win 10 partition.I found 2 Trojans
as a welcome gift.

I used the tablet for about 1 hour before the scan mainly surfing the Web no particularly dangerous places<!–more–>I’d suggest doing a scan anyway
