1981 soldered my first Sinclair computer 1K, tapedeck * 1984 build and sold IBM clones 8Mhz, 512K, 20MB HDD * 2018 messing with ultrabooksDecember 3, 2018 at 2:27 pm #148764Stickers was the plan before it arrived with the close but no cigar overlay, such a shame! Maybe a few minutes with a craft knife and some glue…
December 3, 2018 at 8:06 pm #148781So with a bit of remapping every key on this overlay is now right except right Ctrl is Delete, the top row Fn alternatives are all wrong, and the Delete key booby trap remains the power button. I can just slice the top row off and it will do the job nicely.
… And yet a nagging doubt remains that they can’t possibly have made this thing just to have it chopped up, and that immediately after I desecrate it the answer will turn up. So I’ll bravely run away from the surgical solution, at least until I’ve fallen for the Delete key a few times.

One problem it seems I’m going to have is the #/~ key, there doesn’t seem to be an option for that. The overlay has \ and | on the Z and X keys respectively which I’ve stuck with, but it seems more sensible to stick with the key actually marked with that for US layout. What has anyone else done for #/~?
December 16, 2018 at 1:24 pm #149173when I Spaniardized my US keyboard via stickers, I used only the ones who made sense, had to cut the number stickers so they would not block the blue numb pad numbers.
for everything else, like getting real mouse click buttons, I used AHK
Take a look at my help section it should be under the main diary
