I think OKQI and I have common interest in fixing the issue as long as I’m in warranty. I trust them when they say that the file is from the Teclast technician. I agree that I should have stated the origin before though, just in case.
March 4, 2016 at 8:44 pm #28016following this thread with interest as I’ve just got my X98 Plus, testing with a 128GB Kingston SDXC Class 10 card.
(Purposely avoided Sandisk – got a faulty 64GB, says lifetime warranty, just found out it is but I have to send it to HK for replacement)
Inserted the card – Nothing – Tried to Mount the card- Nothing
Switched to Windows – Nothing – Went to Disk management – Nothing there
Went back to Android – Nothing
Still in Android selected “ERASE” on a whim, came up with warning that all data will be deleted
After “Erasing” a brand new card, it recognised the SD card now and shows 116GB free
am testing by copying 30GB of data over to it now
Question – does both OS recognise the SD card or u can only use it within one OS?

You should be able to see it in both OS.

I respect the fact that you see my point. You should edit your post with the link to that file so others will know where that file came from.
This is not installing an app, this can brick people’s devices.

Update:
I got a new bios to flush from Teclast dated February 23rd. Supposed to fix the sd card issue.
Tried to flush it but got some “update failed” error (no details).
I’ll update if anything else new..
link to download the fix (that didnt work for me) , maybe somebody else will manage to get it working.
I asked Gal to edit his post but he may be sleeping or doesn’t care for my advice. Don’t flash this, wtf are you people thinking….a file posted by some random dude on the internet that can brick your tablet.

As one of those who tried the flash I’d like to respond with wtf I was thinking. This is a forum for enthusiasts not random Joe public, if you don’t know what you are doing flashing a BIOS then you shouldn’t be trying it, insulting others who do is not acceptable behavior. What we are trying to do is fix a problem with the tablet, if you have nothing to contribute please go elsewhere.

Not acceptable behavior. Did it work…no. This file can brick people’s tablets. Go elesware if I have nothing to contribute. Did you look at my contributions? I won’t even go there. 6 posts idiot…lol
March 5, 2016 at 3:20 am #28060I can’t get my card to work well at all anymore, running the default drivers now but bleh. It just crashes the card reader, or goes to 0.01 write speed after writing about 50mb of files onto it. It does see the 64gb cards though.
I’ll be patient and await an update from Teclast instead of toying with it more though.
March 5, 2016 at 4:12 am #28062@Gal did OKQI provide any other info? The instructions are very clear but perhaps we are missing something. I noticed they were running from the root directory but that didn’t fix it. I’ll plug in a keyboard later and see if I can screenshot the install to see what is happening. If only this was Linux and we could run in a shell!
March 5, 2016 at 4:43 am #28063Currently I use Custom rooted ROM by @Supercowz :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65374116&postcount=14
After installation, the micro SD card was not properly detected. 128 GB shown as 1.85 GB only. It is shown on storage menu but not usable at all. After I apply the Supercowz root and tweak:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/x98-air/help/root-teclast-x98-plus-t3313339
The micro SD was detected properly. But the SuperSU requested to update binary, and keep failing. After reboot, SD card failed again. So I disable SuperSU, micro SD still not properly detected.
I applied the above tweak one more time. SuperSU still on disabled state. Rebooted, and now micro SD is detected properly and all the contents are accessible. For my case, using the custom rooted ROM, SuperSU seems to be the issue. Binary always fail to update, and causing the micro SD not properly detected.
March 5, 2016 at 5:24 am #28064Update. BIOS fix works (use at your own risk etc.) you need to put the unzipped folder into the root directory (C:) and run from there. The tablet will reboot then bring you back to the updater which will want you to reboot again. I can confirm my 64gb samsung sd now works fine.
March 5, 2016 at 7:27 am #28065Resolved. I accepted. Teclast sees card Sandisk 128 gigabytes (very cheap). I attach illustrative pictures. (Sorry my czech language)
(Configuration: Teclast dual A5C8, ROM SPZjulien, disable automatic updates SU 2.46 binary, new BIOS on windows factory setting)

Same for me. ‘Upgrade Error’ with your file. Not successful at all. They did not send me anything yet. =(
Thanks a lot for this BIOS update info and link!
It fixed my X98 Plus A5C8. I placed both files:
LocalBIOSUpdateTool-64bit32bit.exe
Rom_8MB_Tablet_A5C8.bin
on C: drive root folder, ran the LocalBIOSUpdateTool-64bit32bit.exe and then selected the Rom_8MB_Tablet_A5C8.bin, the update tool successfully updated the BIOS, rebooted the tablet, and now my 128 GB micro SD card detected properly on both Android and Windows 10.
