1981 soldered my first Sinclair computer 1K, tapedeck * 1984 build and sold IBM clones 8Mhz, 512K, 20MB HDD * 2018 messing with ultrabooksMay 25, 2018 at 7:17 am #143309Apparently, Ubuntu 18.04 has an updated grub so there shouldn’t be any problems. I’m still waiting for my F7 to arrive so I can’t confirm.

Never trusted Ubuntu and now since M$ is a platinum Member of Linux you will see what hidden horrors the future brings.Attachments:

Dude, you seem to be FUD’ing Linux usage. Please stop it. Most of what I have read you post on this forum about Linux is NOT incorrect.
Multiple people have now claimed that Ubuntu 18.04 works OUT OF THE BOX. And certainly many other people, including myself, have gotten various other Linux distros (or older Ubuntu flavors) to work on various notebooks using the rEFInd boot manager or Linuxium’s ISO respin script.June 25, 2018 at 3:42 pm #144164I am working from home at the moment on my F7 running Xubuntu. Easy to install using Etcher to create the bootable USB. The trackpad does not work out of the box but there is a fix for Ubuntu and it’s derivatives, available via a search. i’m enjoying the experience so far. I had to resort to Linux as my F7 does not play nicely with Windows. Somethi;nig to do with teh display driver or GPU, the screen kept freezing and resetting. I tried reinstalling windows but got the same problem. No such issues with Xubuntu.
