Thank you so much for helping! IT WORKS! WiFi, trackpad work. Just booted it from the usb and it is very fast. Tell me if there is something you’d like me to try ?
UAU!!! I knew it!!! I wish mine wasn’t bricked 🙁
And yes I would like very much to know if sound is working, and perhaps bluetooth as well?
Best regards
RicardoJuly 8, 2017 at 7:36 pm #68934If anyone is going to install linux remember that jumper can NOT boot from the sd card. Hence you might want to install it on an external USB drive (or in your internal memory).

Maybe I spoke too soon, bluetooth won’t turn on and audio files won’t play 🙁
But it is still a step forward!

Yes indeed it is because last time trackpad and wireless did not work out of the box, and now they do!!!!
Can you please run sudo inxi -xxAv6 in the terminal and paste the output here please?
Best regards

It returns
sudo:inxi: command not foundmaybe because I’m running it from the USB,
However I managed to enable bluetooth by starting it manually as suggested heresudo systemctl start rtl8723bsbt.service
So the only thing still broken is audioJuly 9, 2017 at 10:28 pm #68990It returns

As for the bluetooth that’s great news, and this means that only sound is not working… I wonder how weird can that sound chip can be?!?!?!?
Best regards

That’s funny!
Try this in terminal instead: lspci | egrep -i –color ‘wifi|wlan|wireless’

The last command returns nothing, if I just run lspci I still do not see anything related to wireless card.
That’s weird. However I’m using it without any problems (except for audio), ubuntu is really smooth, much more than windows 🙂July 11, 2017 at 8:30 pm #69047Yep, it’s really weird !!!!
Anyway sound must be really close to get working as well, I bet someone will address it sooner or later… (ooooh, how I wished I hadn’t bricked mine)

RicardoJuly 19, 2017 at 1:54 pm #69445Most likely the upcoming Kernel 4.13 will fix the audio problem. Has both Ensoniq (Ensonic?) ES8316 and Realtek audio drivers in there.

July 25, 2017 at 1:06 pm #69640That’s great news! I don’t have my EzBook 2 with me at this moment but I look forward to try that when I can!
July 31, 2017 at 10:37 pm #69945Mine’s been sitting around now 6-8 months. I never really used it because I hate Windows 10 and the touchpad is unbearable/unuseable. I am happy to hear this thing can finally run linux correctly (almost).
I would love this computer with linux on it. I always hated having to plug in external mouse and wifi. I want to just be able to take this thing, use it and go.
This is wonderful news.
