Oh that’s a shame, every other distro I tested, it worked fine with my USB mouse, and also with my 1TB Toshiba USB 3.0 External HDD
Best regards
RicardoDecember 5, 2016 at 5:50 pm #58113Hi, I’ve just ordered a jumper ezbook 2 new version (they could have fixed the external hard disk issue and should have improved the internal cooling)
Is there any way to have a linux distro full working?
I just need an OS with a lot of battery life and good performances
best regards

My external Toshiba 2.5″ HDD USB 3.0 works well with this EzBook 2 on windows 10 and ubuntu (I plug it on its USB 3.0 port on the right side). Don’t know if other models and/or brands will work too.
This EzBook comes with Windows 10 Home x64 and everything works fine. I resized the W10 partition and made room for a linux install, and I’m now successfully dual booting but every linux distro I installed wi-fi + touchpad + sound + bluetooth don’t work.
The most annoying problem to me it’s the sound, everything else I can deal, for wi-fi I can buy a cheap dongle, for touchpad I can use a usb mouse (which I prefer BTW) for bluetooth… I don’t care LOL!!!!
So for now I’m stuck with Windows 10, but I believe it’s just a matter of time until some new kernel and/or driver will fix these problems
Best regards
RicardoDecember 29, 2016 at 4:29 pm #59472Latest Linuxium build “Cherry Picked Patches for Cherry Trail Devices” released today, but… I’ve just tested it live and still no wi-fi devices found even if …”To turn on wifi for mini PCs with Broadcom wifi chips it is often necessary to reload the driver. In a terminal window enter ‘sudo modprobe -r brcmfmac’ followed by ‘sudo modprobe brcmfmac’.”… and still no touchpad, no bluetooth and no sound.
But now sound shows a different thing:
“Analog Output
Atom/Celeron/Pentium Processor x5-E8000/J3xxx/N3xxx Series PCI Configuration Registers”Best regards
RicardoDecember 29, 2016 at 6:00 pm #59476Wow, just wrote a long post explaining what I got working so far, after submittinh it was gone…
I have the Yepo 737s, which has similar specs. So, short form: Use latest Antergos with Kernel 4.8, Touchpad and standy work out of the box, Keyboard shortcuts also work including backlight control.
I got Bluetooth to work, Wifi is also detected now but doesnt find any APs.
Wifi: https://github.com/hadess/rtl8723bs, Bt: https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723bs_bt. You need to build your own kernel with the patch 0001-My-changes-for-4.7.0-rc7-for-Baytrail-T.patch
Still investigating Battery and sound. Maybe I will rewrite this post more detailed when my frustration is gone that the previous, detailed post just vanished. ATM Im buidling a new kernel including more patches, will report back.

Please report back, I’m also trying very hard to get this laptop to work, and I’ll do some more tests with Mint 18.1 and then I’ll try to follow your instructions
Keep up the excellent work 😉

Janus I’m using antergos-2016.11.20-x86_64.iso and I can’t install it because it’s need internet connection to install, but when running it live I confirm that screen brightness works out of the box, but touchpad does not work and everything else 🙁
kernel is 4.8.8-2-ARCH
Did you manage to install it on your hdd? How?
Best regards
RicardoDecember 29, 2016 at 6:59 pm #59481I used my android phone wih USB tethering. You could also use a supported wifi stick.
Trackpad: Verify that xf86-input-libinput is installed and in use, if it still fails uninstall all other packages starting with xf86-input
